Wow, what a fantastic game. I wasn't expecting much for being such a cheap indie game, but I was shocked at the depth of this game. It is clearly made by someone who truly loves puzzle games, because it feels exactly like some of the other greats of the genre in all the right ways, while still bringing something completely unique to the table.

There was pretty much only one puzzle that I was not a fan of, the secret piano puzzle. Needing to remember 34 notes in a row is pretty difficult for someone without perfect pitch AND really good pitch memory. I have a decent background in music, so I didn't struggle with any of the sound puzzles, but this one was just too much.

But aside from that one, finding the solutions felt extremely satisfying, and discovering the secrets was even more enjoyable.

I'm glad to see the dev was able to get hired, because they clearly are good at what they do, but it is sad to see that they won't have any more projects like these coming out.

Wow, just wow.

When I heard about the DLC, I found myself wondering how on earth they could put more into the game. How would it possibly fit in? What more do they have to tell? Will it feel like more outer wilds? Does it satisfy that itch?

Yes, 10000% on all fronts. Just, absolutely incredible. If you liked Outer Wilds, you will love this. It answers questions from the first in a super satisfying way, ties into the base game as if it were there all along, and most importantly, it feels like more of what makes outer wilds great.

Fair warning: if you aren't the type for more horror type things, you may need to be careful or use the "Reduce frights" option. It's there for a reason - some stuff can get intense.

But my god is it worth it. Mobius does it again, and reassures me that they are a studio to watch.

I really wanted to like this game.

Starting out, it felt super promising. Awesome style, great music, and a wonderful environment. But slowly... the cracks in the concept start showing up.

The game seems to be really confused about its identity. The first bit of exploring is super interesting, but slowly, jumping from oversized, unclear, gray pentagon to oversized, unclear, gray pentagon gets old. There's nothing really interesting going on.

I can't even tell what type of game this is supposed to be. There are mini logic puzzles involving gates, except that there's an ability that lets you instantly skip any of these.

There's over-the-shoulder fighting against bosses/enemies, but there are abilities that make these a cake walk.

There's 3D platforming, but there's an ability that lets you skip it all.

Every interesting part of the game seems to not be fleshed out, and instead you get an ability that lets you just skip all future parts of it.

Additionally, the abilities you unlock, some of which are effectively mandatory for progression, are occasionally hidden and it's unclear you missed them. For example, I played through a majority of the game without unlocking the map/tab menu, which is both essential to multiple other parts of the game and is how you can access the in game collectibles later. I didn't have access to this menu for a large portion of my game, making it really awkward for me.

This game had some good ideas and concepts, it just feels like none of them are fleshed out. And with me completing the game (with having to backtrack through multiple areas repeatedly to find the essential ability I missed) in only 6 hours, there's just not enough to justify this purchase.

This game is AMAZING.

I thought it'd be a cute, fun little game that I'd enjoy and see as a fun side game to enjoy.

I was certainly right, but boy was I wrong. The story is sweet, the artstyle is amazing, and the mix of puzzles and battles works just perfectly. The paintbrush gimmick is lovely, and painting the town and villagers is a delight, especially as you unlock new ways to do so.

I'm not very far into this game yet, but it's already in my top list of games.

Update: it's good all the way through. Should win literally every steam award but I can only nominate it once.

This is by far the greatest game I've ever played.

The story, music, exploration, and atmosphere all mix together into one of the most unique experiences you will ever have.

Trust me, if you haven't played this game, you are missing out.

This is absolutely one of the worst games I've ever played. It has so much potential, it could be so good...

And yet.
The awful, unintuitive puzzles
Terrible AI that constantly leaves you questioning, "Why is he here doing this right now???"
The strange progression that just leaves you more frustrated than anything else
TONS. Of. BUGS.
More I can't think of

Leave the great idea of this game in a terrible state. It just leaves me frustrated when playing the game to a degree I cannot withstand.

For the love of God, do not get this game. I got it for free and I still feel ripped off.
(I also have a couple more hours on the EPIC Game Store version, which I ALSO got for free.)
