Early Access Review
A $15 game that is more Battlefield than what Battlefield has been for the past for years.

Plain and simple: I love it. It is a mixture of BF2 and BF3, but with added gameplay mechanic to it that make it pretty fun to play. For example, the proximity chat is useful and sometimes hillarious. The destruction is a major plus, especially since I run as an Engie. I love destroying peeps hiding behind walls, destroying cover with RPGs and C4. The gunplay is pretty good too with DMGs, ARs, Carbiines, DMRs with many attachments that add to the progression. Love the grappling hook system similar to what BF2had, it should have been like that in 2042. It has a Server Browser in which I use every time I play. Like you said, doesn't take too much effort to run the game, so it's easy on my CPU and GPU.

It's still not perfect.
CONS: I dislike that they allow adding C4 and Mines on Drones to get 4-5 multi kills. Also Suicide C4 vests is wow, why devs?, thankfully I hardly get killed by that cheese. Not a fan of having so many modes, I just stick to Domination and Conquest and its variations. While I like the self-heal with bandages mechanic, I don't like fact how easy you can bleed which in turn slows down the fight for non-medic classes. Maybe reduce that a bit, another thing is sniper spam sometimes, but learning the map helps avoid them.

Compared to BF?..So I've had too many hours in BF4, BC2, BF3 servers are dead. BF1 gunplay has weird and casual mechanics and no way I'm going back to BFV; much less with BF2042. All in all, it's the best shooter out there for me right now.
