I gave this game a solid try for close to a couple dozen hours, and ultimately decided that it wasn't worth putting any additional time or effort into. Don't take this to mean that this is a terrible game - I did enjoy most of my time with it and do not regret the money I spent, and perhaps you'll end up happy with it. However, for me, it simply does not hold up to top rhythm games, and I have no desire to put any more time I could be spending on Stepmania, IIDX, DJMAX, etc into this game. Essentially, it was a fun diversion for a while but ultimately unsatisfactory in the long-term. Please note that my perspective is that of a long-time, avid rhythm game player, and I consider myself fairly skilled, so I'll be comparing this game to my experience with other similar games. If you're a more casual player you may have a different experience. Now, let's take a more in-depth dive about what I specifically liked and didn't like about this game.

POSITIVES
+KEYSOUNDS! Keysounds are always fun and not something you'll get in every rhythm game, so it's always nice when they're there. Not every track has them, as there are some licensed songs, but the majority of tracks are keysounded.
+Precise timing windows - The game actually measures timing more finely than the most accurate displayed judgment (called EXACT). The scoring system is robust enough to take into account timings up to the millisecond, which adds tons of replayability for skilled players, as you can always improve on your scores (since it is essentially not humanly possible to get a full score). There is also a leaderboard for each song, which is unobtrusively displayed (for those who don't care) and easily accessed (for those who do), and is a fun way to engage in competition across the internet.
+Price point - The base game is extremely cheap to try out and see if you like it. The DLC is a bit more expensive, but I saw it as a sort of "try for cheap, invest more if you enjoy the game" pricing model. I did buy the first DLC pack that was out with the release of the game and found it as good as what the game had offered so far.

MIXED/NEUTRAL
=Number of charts per song - There are only two difficulties, which is rather disappointing, since players may find themselves either bored with easy songs or overwhelmed with hard songs as each song doesn't have an even spread. However, there is both a 4-key and 6-key mode available for all songs, which at least gives a bit more gameplay options.
=Music - There is a decent variety of songs here, and a lot of them are quite good. However, the high amount of vocaloid music here makes it hard for me to wholeheartedly recommend on a musical front, as that's just not really what I'm into. I figure it's worth mentioning, as I know vocaloids can be a turn-off for some people (and a draw for others).

NEGATIVES - aka, the reasons why I eventually decided NOT to recommend this game.
-Difficulty - For high-skilled players, this doesn't offer a whole lot. I'm not as used to 6-key as 4-key, so I got much more play out of that mode, but this doesn't quite present the kind of challenge you might be able to get in the higher tiers of Stepmania or IIDX.
-Use of combo in the scoring system - Combo in rhythm games is typically just for fun, or maybe has some achievements tied to it. This game takes it a step further in that it accounts for 10% of of your score. This unfortunately causes wild fluctuations in your score if you miss a very few or just a single note (by up to 5%, which is VERY extreme for a single note and can easily cost you a letter grade) depending on where in the song the note was missed. If you're good enough to hit all the notes anyway, this doesn't add anything to your experience, and if you make a mistake it can either reflect extra poorly on your score or barely make a scratch in it. I feel this makes the score unfortunately a poor reflection of actual performance, despite enjoying the precision it measures.
-Pattern variety (or lack thereof) - This may be conjecture, but I suspect that all the charts in this game were made by a single person, and they approached each song the same way. After playing song after song, I began to notice that there wasn't much variation in the note patterns across the game as a whole, and I became bored with the charts themselves. I have played a lot of rhythm games in a lot of styles and seen incredible creativity from this community, but that just isn't present in this game. The charts feel very churned-out and samey, despite the tracks themselves being quite different.

As stated previously, these issues may or may not matter to you. However, they made an impact to me over the course of hours of playtime, and caused me to decide not to return to this game. If you have an interest in rhythm games and the things I stated as negatives don't seem that bad, maybe give the base game a try for cheap and decide from there if it's enjoyable enough to invest additional money. However, if you're already enjoying the plethora of great rhythm games out there and want something else to dig deep into, this may not offer the satisfaction you're after.
