I suck at this game and have hardly played it. Why do I keep on buying the DLC?

So what's important to you? Gameplay? Story? Graphics? Music? Sound effects? Or things like the girls wearing skimpy clothing? You don't really hear anyone complain about any of the things listed before the outfits. Also this game has lots and lots of them. That's why they complain about the grind. There are so many of them that it will take a very long time for anyone to unlock them all. The nice thing though is that they're not paid DLC. You unlock them by playing the game, but you won't unlock them in 100 hours. I've played that much, and I'd say that I've unlocked like 25% of everything. Also I've been very focused in unlocking things as fast as I can. I doubt many have unlocked as much as me in that amount of time.

The good news about the complaints filed to QLOC is that they're actually listening. One regular complaint is 30 FPS lock for the menu and x-ray moves. I forget what else, but they're going to release a patch to make it 60 FPS. It's possible that there will be new outfits for the female characters that will have outfits closer to how they appeared in previous games.

So what is important to you? Of course you can experience the story on YouTube, but if you're like me you want to experience it for yourself even though you'll pay the cost of the game as opposed to nothing on YouTube. The gameplay is the best yet in the series. 100 hours in and I've hardly tapped it all. There are 10 special moves for each character that take 1 or 2 slots each out of the available 3 slots. Instead of 3 fighting styles you get so many more in this game. Also no more excessive x-ray move use. I think they look cool, but do you really need to see them multiple times per fight?

This game will have far more replay value because of the fact that you get to play with these custom fighting styles, attach augments to 3 items that you carry including your weapons for use against AI (so not for use in online battles), and customize your look unlike any Mortal Kombat game before this one. It's a nice start in becoming more like its competitors.

Also Ed Boon realizes that people love MK for the fatalities. They're the best yet. This time it's more about quality than quantity. They still have 2 fatalities per fighter and more than enough brutalities, but they're not as over-the-top with how many you can perform as in MK XL. I've performed each fatality countless times, and when I want to get double the points for finishing the fight with a brutality but don't feel like doing anything special then I'll just finish with an uppercut and hold down on the punch button. That's a brutality that works for all fighters.

Also pro tip. You can perform that brutality for all of your kills on each kombatant when you collect their heads to place on the spikes in the krypt to enter Shang Tsung's throne room. You do not have to actually perform a fatality. Either one will work. It'll be cool to do the fatalities at first, but after a while you'll just want to do the fastest kill possible. Just do that one.

More like Disney's Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. Gone are many of our favorite fighters from the previous games such as 100% of the X-Men and Fantastic Four characters along with Deadpool. After visually amazing games from Netherealm Studios you'd expect Capcom to step it up, but this is about as disappointing as Street Fighter V in that department. If all you care about is good net code and fun gameplay then you may be satisfied, but I'd pick almost any other game first.

I made the mistake of buying this game from Green Man Gaming so I'm stuck with it. I better learn to like it. I've purchased numerous fighting games this year. Anything else that's been released is better.

I purchased and prefer all of the following:

Arms
Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2
Injustice 2
Tekken 7
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
Ultra Street Fighter II

I'm sure I'm forgetting some 2017 titles right now or forgotten that a game is actually from 2017. Regardless, only play this if you're a die hard fighting fan who isn't easily disappointed.

Original review: Yesterday I played this for 13 hours. I never get that hooked to a single game. I've collectively played it 52 hours this week. The game has problems that they're working out, and if these problems are going to bother you then I say hold out until there are more patches. So far there have been exploits such as being able to hide inside a cabinet, and Jason cannot get to you. A problem that currently exists is that a propeller will be located on the dock, and you cannot pick it up. I've seen this happen multiple times. The way the doors work is kinda annoying. You have to be careful, otherwise the door will push you outside the house.

The craziest thing to happen in the game happened to me last night. I was Jason, and I had 6 out of 8 kills. 2 people were attempting to get away on the boat. I teleported to the boat, and one of them shot me towards the lake. The shot ended up pushing me off the map, and the game ended. If problems like this bother you then I say wait, but games start up very fast and last as long as 20 minutes. Most of the time I do not experience any problems aside from people leaving early. In public games, because of this, it will be almost impossible to get 8/8 kills. You're probably better off attempting that one in a private game with a group of friends.

Also before buying this make sure that you have DirectX 11 capable hardware. One of my friends has an older Alienware laptop that supports DirectX 10.1. You will not be able to play the game should this be your situation. The game doesn't look very demanding, but it does include some hardware requirements.

If you like survival horror games I feel like this one is for you. You do not have to be a Friday the 13th fan, but it definitely helps. There are 59 ways to kill with Jason. Have fun!

About 2 months later: Banned without any reason given. Maybe I performed an exploit? Maybe I helped Jason? It's not clear. I'm banned, and I've asked for a reason but haven't received one.

Also I previously messaged the devs about Jason and a counselor clearly working against everyone else together. GunMedia_Ben had this to offer:

"Please do not spam everyone and review the rules. There is a link there on how to report."

I actually did not message everyone, and it was unclear that there was a link there for reporting. That's why I asked 6 of them (not all of them) about how to report. I sent one message. I feel like they are very rude and this has become a very unpleasant experience.

I ended up playing this game ~230 hours.

Did you get 100% of the achievements in Clicker Heroes and you want to find another clicker game to play that has achievements? Are you interested in following the debates for the current election? I recommend that you give this game a try. Pick your party, Republican or Democrat, and start clicking away.

I have one warning other than the fact that this game is highly addictive. If you're not careful while rapidly clicking it's easy to make an in-game purchase, which is non-refundable through Steam. This is moreso a problem if you keep one of the left side menus open while clicking and have purchased the $0.49 boost and intend on clicking every ballon as it passes by. You can accidentally click on the offer button, select the $3.99 3 Multiplier, and finalize the purchase without intending to do so. Just remember to not leave the side menu open, and you'll be fine.

Now that you know what not to do have some fun with this retro-style clicker.
