CS:GO Review
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is the 7th instalment in the series of Valve's famous competitive shooters.

This game was originally released for PC in 2012 but is still today recognised as one of the best FPS games the gaming community have to offer.

The game consists of various game modes, which all offer vastly different experiences. Though competitive matchmaking is the one that will really get you addicted to what this game has to offer.

You play as a team of 5 going against another team of 5, where the objective of the game is to capture or defend bombsites on places that for example resemble a town in Italy or a nuclear plant. One match stretches over 30 rounds max. which each has a time limit of 2 min. This means that a single match could take more than an hour.

This is a game which is easy to pick up (especially now that it is free) but takes hours upon hours to master. The very essence of winning a game lies upon your ability to communicate with your team and thereby outplay your opponent.
The communication part of the game is one of the reasons why I recommend you play this with a friend or multiple. Playing this game with friends can prove very fun, and can give you the edge when it comes to winning. Your chemistry is obviously better with someone you know, and that will result in fewer problems when it comes to helping each other as you are playing.

CS:GO is a game you can end up wasting a lot of time on, and that is something I and the vast majority of the counter strike player base can vouch for. As You can see, my account has accumulated roughly 2700 hours on the game (by the time I am writing this review). I started playing 2015 and still play to this day. This proves how good replayability this game has, but then again you can also get bored after having played a couple of matches.

All of this sounds great right, but alas every rose has its thorn.
Cheating is something, that is very hard to avoid when playing. You are gonna bump into a couple of cheaters eventually. Some might be more obvious than other, but at the end of the day Valve's Anti Cheat is not cut from the finest cloths. Though I am certain this will not hinder your experience.

The interface and graphics evolved a lot through the times, since the games original release. Today the game consist of the UI Valve decided to name Panorama. I personally enjoy the new look, and it is very convenient for obtaining loads of information when launching the game, and also makes it easy to navigate through the different game modes and has many features that will prove helpful.

The graphics are not like it’s competitors, but then again that is not what this game focuses on. The gameplay is unmatchable by any other games alike. That does not mean the game looks bad though. It has had several visual rehauls since the original game came out. And Valve is still working on enhancing the different maps, textures and models within the game.

Sound plays a very big role in this game, which also is the reason why it needs to be spot-on. Sound is used to identify where your enemy is approaching you from and can be the very determining factor of who comes out on top in a duel. The three dimensional sound processing the game uses definitely serves its purpose, but there are always room for improvement.

I will say now that the game is free, there is absolutely no reason as to why you should not pick up this amazing title. You will be joining a very large community, that can be rude at times but also great and fulfilling. If you are a competitive person and like to play with and against other people then this game is for you.

Overall I would rate this a very solid game for what it is.
The provides you with exactly what it promises, a great competitive experience.
You do not get the latest graphics and or innovative game mechanics, but you get a game that just does great at what it is supposed to.
