This game is not for everyone, but let me be frank here. I used to play a lot of League of Legends, but some of my friends fell off, and it became a chore. My friend's group gaming taste changed, and I took more turn-based, and they stayed with shooters. I was searching YouTube one day and came across a YouTuber, @seanblambert, and got into a few tutorials.

This absorbed me as my game to play for numbers and strategy. WiTE2 is the cream of wargaming and may even lead you into the physical tabletop form of other games. You will quickly want someone to play with, not because the AI is bad (IMO AI kicks my butt, your KM may be different), but because you will want someone to enjoy the complexity and the stories you'll get. Playing PBEM, even with family, is worth so much. I cannot recall the last time I enjoyed talking shop about a Video Game (RA2, maybe?). Still, I find myself and my close family talking about the rules or strategies, mainly about the rules. As I said, this game is enormous but very grounded, and most game concepts are common sense with huge cavities that may take some extra reading or trial and error. YouTube tutorials are very accommodating. PM if you ever need some links. The community of this game seems small, but the people I have seen online talking about this game are very helpful. The two included getting-started scenarios, with the tutorial section in the Manual work well to get you playing. I suggest learning a concept, putting it into play, and slowly getting further in the campaign or scenario. It's a war, not a battle.

You will notice the hefty price, but based on my experience, the team still updates this game and some older games. Plus, you get some really rad sales on this title and WiTW. This game won't directly save today's gaming industry, but it will make you feel good waking up, grabbing a cup of coffee, and playing a few turns, and it won't leave you salty... Just wondering if that CV is enough and maybe just one more turn.
