I love From Software as a developer. I love all Souls games, including Elden Ring.
However Bandai Namco can go rot in hell for all I care. Japanese Publishers became extremely greedy in recent years and Bandai is no exception.

Elden Ring base game costs 60$, the DLC costs 40$, but the base game + DLC bundle costs 80$. That's 20$ difference for owning the game. Normal publishers at least have the decency to make a Steam bundle where you can "complete your collection" and buy the DLC at a lower price if you already own the base game. But not Bandai because typical Japanese Publisher.

The DLC price being 40$ is absolutely horrific, both DLCs for Dark Souls 3 at launch were priced at 15$, so this DLC costs 10$ more than those 2 combined. And I bet it's not going to come even close in amount of content, it's just Bandai being greedy.

Regional prices are a joke, they started being a joke several years ago when some Japanese Publishers decided they didn't want money from people outside of 1st world countries and Bandai followed suit. Reminder, Steam updated regional pricing literally 1 year ago, it's the most up-to-date it has ever been, and yet every Japanese Publisher thinks it's their duty to increase regional prices by 80%+ over Steam recommended. 2 years ago I could've bought Elden Ring itself for the same price they're selling the bloody DLC right now.

And obviously Steam forums are filled with entitled 1st world players who "would pay 10x more and still enjoy the DLC". So greedy corpos continue being greedy because some American/German 40 year olds who think the world revolves around them continue supporting these practices.
