Update: Every update, lots of bugs and crashes. It really is taking the mick at this point. And when we can't rollback mods because it's all Steam Workshop? Literally no reason to play except if you like crashes all the time for no reason.

Vanilla: Trash and boring. Development is one step forward, one step back. Game has awful bugs that have been around since launch, and were not an issue in TWWII. For example, reinstating a faction that was confederated, causes them to spawn as a corrupt "zombie" faction that bugs out the game. Wasn't an issue in the second game, and CA's fix is to just disable the mechanic for them.

With mods? Very fun and dynamic. Naturally, I recommend the mods I made for the game IF you want a challenge. Hecleas as well, they do good work.

But it's a shame that the game needs so many mods to be fun, when the base game should be fun. Especially with the insane prices you have to pay for the games and DLC.
