Probably the best Football Manager game in the last few years, the tactical style mechanic allows for a less steep learning curve for newer players, and arguably allows those more experienced to experiment more and adapt better to new opponents or situations in match.
The most fun I've had with a Football Manager game, with a better looking purple UI and I would fully recommend this game.

Now, hear me out on this first point. I love the game, however in its current state I would wait until it is in a sale before buying it, however when fully released I would really recommend it.

As a Brit, I don't know that much about the famous Civil War battles, however I get the general story of the war.

I started a CSA campaign and within 3 missions have 2 Corps (3 divisions). The gameplay is easy to learn but hard to master, and is unforgiving if you mess up. However, I feel this adds to the fun, and the fact you cannot immediately run the whole army is reassuring, not too easy.
You will lose men in each battle, no matter whether a skirmish or a grand battle (I fought 1st Bull Run and lost 48% of my original men).
The army progression and politics is an interesting idea, however the politics aspect is at this point underdeveloped in my eyes (well, it could be more at least).
I found fort battles to be more challenging than other types of battle, and found I am more of a defensive general than an offensive one.

The officer progression is a great point of the game, and the UI is as good as the original Ultimate General: Gettysburg.

So yeah, buy it in a sale unless you get it after its full release.

CK2 is a fantastic game which is easy to learn at first. There is a good multiplayer service and singleplayer is fun but sometimes can take a bit of time to expand.
