For new features this edition, we saw an overhaul of the scouting system, a new way to interact with the board of the club you’re managing and the fans too, and that’s it. In terms of quantity, it truly is an underwhelming feature list.

However, in terms of quality of life, immersion, and how well they’ve been implemented, I really think each one was a success. I especially like the increased fan interaction and clear depiction of what they want and how satisfied they are with your performance, the goals the fans set differ from the board and their outlook on the transfers you have made go in the exact opposite direction, while the board are completely satisfied and maybe even give you an A+ grade for your financial prudence with you selling a long term squad legend who is well past their best, the fans will be in uproar with a definite F grade. The ability to manage on two fronts is a definite improvement to me.

The new scouting system is a middling change for me, like many new features in recent years, it unfortunately only changes things at a superficial level and once you dive into even the slightest of depths you notice it’s purely a reskin of the previous iterations’ systems with some aspects even removed. I can understand the idea behind attempting to make it more realistic but at the same time this is a game, and the primary purpose of gaming is entertainment.

What the game does badly is really it is a reskin of Football Manager 2022 in many ways. There just isn’t the need to put in the work required to overhaul it year on year when there are no competitors, people will still buy it. However public opinion is beginning to change though with the majority leaning towards this game being an insult for this price with its lack of changes.

Overall I would recommend getting the game on sale if you enjoyed the previous game or it is your first foray into the series but avoid paying full price. Series stagnation is the main drawback and immersion is the main pull to this game.
