I’m unsure how bad it is for others but I will state - I still use a 1070. A 1070, people. And the game still runs good. Sure there are lapses here and there but nothing game-breaking.

What happened to the gaming community where 30 fps is unplayable? Are we really just that spoiled rotten? 30 FPS is still great unless maybe if this game was a SHOOTER but it’s not. This isn’t Fortnite or Apex or Valorant. Sure, FPS may not always be at its best but it’s still 100% playable.

The MTX rage… guys… this was in the FIRST game too, but no one really cared. You don’t need to touch it at all, it’s literally stuff you can access as soon as you get to the capital. Wakestones? Pawn hires. Rift crystals? Pawn hires. Gaol key? Found several. Campsite kit? Many to find in the wild or even buy. Character edit book? Capital rift stone, shop keep right next to it. If I remember right… 500 rift crystals? Point is, you aren’t forced to get any of this stuff at all. You weren’t forced to on the first game either.

Alright enough ranting…
The game itself is definitely superb in regards to being a sequel to the first. I absolutely loved Dragon’s Dogma and the second game has not disappointed me. The combat can get hectic, party management can determine how some fights can go. I love how it brought back something to the series that the first game slowly lost out on if you ventured into the DLC early - Difficulty. The unforgiving nature of this game is what makes surpassing challenges feel great. The map is beyond massive compared to the first, more alive and even more open.

I can keep going on but if you’re a fan of the first game, I see no reason you wouldn’t enjoy this one.

Early Access Review
Honestly unsure what to think, but maybe decent as a time waster?... I'm just looking at it to see what's up.

If people knew how to actually read a store page for those complaining about dead servers or whatnot, maybe realize the world had undergone an entire pandemic. Netease was one of the many who were affected hard enough to be forced to shut down, sadly leaving Nostos in its early stages in limbo. So those complaining and looking for updates and support from this game, I doubt you'll be getting it since April 2020.

For what it was worth, I was looking forward to how this game was going to turn out in the beginning. It was buggy and pretty messy, sure, but it had promise. Promise that was sadly dashed by external forces. If this makes a comeback, I would enjoy to see where it may go, but I have high doubt that will happen any time soon.

The game was great when it first came out. Then came item drops and hats. Then trading. Then the Mann Co. store, and now it's free. If you like team-based gameplay, and I guess cosmetics, pick this up.
