I'm enjoying and recommend. Not having a hard save system is odd, but I am not having crashes so the Autosaving has been good enough for now. It's interesting how the game has alternate paths from the original story and you can make non-canon decisions to see how it plays out. The difficulty is fine if you pay attention to what's important, like resources and morale, the combat is also fine if you pay attention to your strength against he enemy and you can adapt with bringing allies at the cost of resources. The away team missions are also fine if you take the right teams and they don't really need 100% min-max. If you're okay with losing out on RNG sometimes, it's totally fine since losing rolls can help the challenge in a game that has otherwise been pretty easy on the medium difficulty.

I'm not discounting issues other people have been facing, but I am offering a point of view from someone who has not had those issues. Pay attention to both reviews and make an informed decision, remembering that people can be extreme with both positives and negatives. By the way, I do agree that Day 1 DLC is always lame, and a downside no matter how good a game is, but I feel that I'm on my way to getting $40 worth of game.

Recommended for space action and roguelite enjoyers. Though be advised that it's a bit slower in gameplay than you'd think or might like. Play the demo to see what I mean, it's worth a look.

Nice take on a Fantasy FPS Roguelite. Most of my time played has been on the extraction mode, maybe took a third of the time to get through the main campaign. I think they have a good base here, but it could use more content, maybe some DLC in the future would be good. I'll play a bit more to complete the extraction mode and play some gauntlet to see how that works.

Pretty cool take on a tactics game, has a tabletop feel. I wasn't sure if I would stick with it but after the 3rd campaign (Gwen) I'm having a good time now that some things are unlocked. May be a little too fast paced and not quite deep enough for someone looking for final fantasy/ogre tactics. I like the options in length of adventures and it's pretty clearly more going for the roguelite style of gameplay than long form RPG. I'd say it has a little bit of all the tags, but it doesn't go crazy with the roguelite mechanics either (no crazy modifiers for characters).

Although I won't be telling my friends that I play this game at my age, I'm having a good time with this. Not quite Animal Crossing or Dinkum, think more like Brighter Shores and Stardew (kind of) with a very light hearted and kid friendly environment and story. It has that numbers go up feel like Brighter Shores (or Runescape) with many different professions (or lives) to level up, which you can limit yourself to a few or level them all. You can get a house and decorate it like AC/Dinkum, you can complete various tasks for rewards, grind levels for lives, and follow a story, though the story has been pretty basic.

If you enjoy a light hearted RPG/Profession Grind, this is a good time and I recommend it, there is a ton of content to get through. It's the type of game that 10 yr. old me would have played on Nintendo.

The Musou beat em up in a Survivors/Hades like format. Grindy fun.

Tower of Kalemonvo has that Diablo 1 feel, including some things that weren't great. The slower and more strategic gameplay is welcome in a market flooded with blaster style ARPGs. My main issue is realizing how much kiting needs to be done on a ranged character due to how much hp monsters have in comparison to the damage you do plus the lack of accuracy. I did not expect accuracy to be so important for a Mage, but I realized after long strings of misses that it definitely is. I'm not surprised, but I remember how not fun that is when you're kiting a train of monsters. I did mix in some melee, but after getting to the where manticores and other monsters start appearing and really hitting you hard, that quickly became a death. I take this as I likely wasn't building my character how the developer intended since I quickly ran out of potions. I couldn't really figure out how to get my spells to hit harder other than hoping a book for a spell I already have drops, which they didn't for what I was using for damage.

Additionally, there's the matter of the inaccuracy of clicking and animations/hit boxes. What I mean is, you can sometimes find yourself walking toward a group of monsters when you're trying to walk away, shoot, walk away because the monster will move just out of your clicking area. This can be alleviated with constant use of shift click when you want to attack, but that makes it a little clunky. I also found it frustrating at times, when trying to kite, that some monsters are pretty fast and this in combination with how you'll often just get hit because the monster started the attack animation even if you moved away for what appears to be on time.

I also wasted a weapon on a 'golden goblin' I found because I had no idea what it did and I still can't really tell what the obelisks do.. I had one give me a buff, but the others... they may have adjusted my stats?

Rambling aside, all in all, it's not a bad game. The nostalgia is there for sure and I'll give it another try with the lessons learned. Having a game feel like an old skill ARPG with the caliber of Diablo, with mild modernization is refreshing and I did mostly have a good time. I would recommend it, but just remember that some of the old school style game mechanics weren't and won't always be fun and nostalgia only lasts for so long. The price is right for a few runs and there's a demo, try it out.

As many reviews have already stated, this is a marriage of Terraria and Din's Curse/Legacy (with Diablo influence). There are a couple of games on Steam already that have tried this marriage (Diablo/Terraria) and this is shaping up to be one of the better ones. Despite Soldak continuing to use a lot of the same old assets from previous games (one of my biggest critiques of his games), there's enough built on this iteration of his formula and good amount interesting gameplay to carry it through and make it a fresh take. I'll be interested to see what 1.0 looks like, but I'm actually having a good time with what's here now, aside from getting stuck in collapsing sand with nothing but patience and a lot of pick swinging to get me out.

Such a cool idea, but it's overall really obtuse and not intuitive. A better UI and tutorial would probably go a long way. I can't recommend it due to how much tinkering needs to be done just to understand what things do and how to navigate the game.

Don't buy it if you are expecting a crash free, bug free, complete product.

Buy if you want to check it out and provide feedback.

If you're on the fence, buy something else and wait.
