Early Access Review
I usually never stick too long on survival games. Either because they are too grindy or lack purpose. This one seems the right balance for me.

Progression is fun. You grow your village, your character and your gear all at the same time.

The combat has decent mechanics (block, parry, dodge, etc) but is not over complicated for nothing. The enemies are not that hard which is great for more casual players but don't go unprepared into the wild else your HP bar can melt very quickly. Dying is quite forgiving. Also, enemies scale with amount of players in the game so if you make a huge party with your friends, prepare yourself to struggle more on casual mobs!

Base building is probably one of the best I've seen in a long long time. It's as cool as Minecraft and beyond. You can build absolutely everything you want but with much more details than Minecraft. Sometime, the placement is a little weird and it can take multiple attempts to achieve what you want. Fortunately, you have an undo button (YES, AN UNDO BUTTON GUYS!!!) to help quickly remove something that was placed wrong so you can try again. And every time you remove something, you get the materials back! You also have a grid to help with placement which can be deactivated for more precision. It takes to get used to it but when you start to understand how it works, you'll never want to go play any other of those games with their lame prefabs that gives no room for creativity!

Character progression is pretty much what you have in all RPG. The talent tree may not be the most crazy at time but it seems to do the job very well. I'm happy they designed the game with a tank and healer in mind to encourage players to group up!

NPCs are a nice add-on to the game. They are both a goal and a help for the player. Saving them is part of the story and once they join your village, they give you a handful of new crafts to help you get better prepared for harder mobs.

Overall, the graphics are nice, the base building is crazy cool, the NPCs brings life to your game (especially if you solo play) and the difficulty is just right (at least for me). The map is HUGE but thanks to the devs, the story is engaging and gives just enough guidance so you don't start to run in all directions like a headless chicken so you don't waste too much time running in the wrong direction.

I heard the entire map is not available yet but the beginning is so promising that it's really worthwile. One of the rare decent early access that I played in the past years.
