Early Access Review
Wait on this game. It is not ready.
Gameplay has a number of issues that aren't appealing to A LOT of people. You may or may not fall in the that camp.
For me the gameplay is stiff and the enemy design is lacking. Enemies attack patterns need to be tweaked as they feel instant. The parry is supposed to be what you use to deal with the attacks and get health but it feels wildly finicky. At its core the parry needs to be tighter if its supposed to play a bigger role in the gameplay loop. Much like in Lies of P (obviously they are different games but the idea is that they focused in on the mechanic).

There is something here that I hope the developer can polish this into what I can see.

This review is completely ignoring the current optimization issues, which is a legitimate complaint but will be fixed.

This game has absolutely horrid feeling combat and traversal.
Played this game on hard and on co-op.

Every enemy feels spongy and have insane tracking on their attacks. During combat the game would not register my attacks on and off. Multiple moments of enemies visibly making contact with my melee only to not receive any damage.

The live service-esque gear leveling is awful and not implemented well enough to be fun. The game gates elemental weapons through the ♥♥♥♥ gear leveling system the gear just amounts to "Does Ice dmg" or "Does Fire dmg". Once you have weapons with elements the game gets even less fun because at that point your JUST cycling through the elements over and over.
Since you can't stack different elemental effects on targets. Its EITHER you proc the Ice effect *OR* fire(or literally any other element). Maybe this was to balance when programming the combat like this. I imagine its to prevent the effects from tearing through an enemy's healthbar. BUT this sucks as an argument because you can always just proc effects in chain and breaking the balance OUTRIGHT. Effectively looping enemies in a state of non-being by loop-stunning them. For example, use Fire until it procs, do normal damage, then use Ice until it procs. EACH proc stuns ANY target.
Element Stun > Damage > Element Stun ad infinitum is a boring gameplay loop. Especially when the A.I. is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ brain dead.

Everything felt like a slog even when changing the difficulty.

The Co-op experience was pretty bad too. Implementation of it just felt like a single player game that got combat multiplayer.
Why they have ZERO cutscenes or story dialogue have ANY changes when you have an online partner is a mystery for the ages. Probably too difficult to program? Certainly stupid tho after being marketed as a co-op experience.

Passable experience on Normal difficulty but then the game will be boring since the combat is not intuitive/fun.
Which I did play on Normal for a couple hours to give it a fair shot.

Get this on sale or not at all. Do not recommend for anyone looking for a "good" Arkham City-esque game.
Definitely don't play on hard because everything just gets tons of health with no changes to AI.

I didn't have a tough time playing this game.
I just didn't have a FUN time playing this game.

For people who like to hate themselves and repeating tasks over and over and over again with small changes. There is that time you are about to win, and then you don't and then you decide "Hey, I should keep playing." But your friends are telling you to stop because you've been playing for 9 hours ignoring basic human needs.
