So I just completed Bioshock Infinite and my thoughts on it are... mixed the first half of the game is outstanding which has something smart to say about regimes and the like. However the second half is where the game starts showing it's holes for one it's broken upgrade system health upgrades seem pointless while weapon upgrades ensure that the weapon that you put all your money into is never around, the uselessness of many of the powers you find (I powered through the game in 8 hours with electricity for the robot lad and bucking bronco for the organic meaty lads) the story also goes pants up with the main characters getting ultra serious about how much of a monster they are? There is nothing wrong with the writers doing this as other games have done that type of story extremely well (Spec ops: The Line). The problem arises in the fact that the characters never address it properly. The ending is pretty poor as well because despite the fact that the writers may have done a good job tying up the many lose ends that they managed to create the ending doesn't create any emotions, tension or curiosity in the player's mind all it does is railroad the player into a decision which the game tries to convince the player was their own. But the first half is still good so pick it up in a sale if you still want it.
