First of all, this game has a lot of potential and is very fun when the matchmaking works fine. In my opinion this game isn't dead. This game is easy to learn but hard to master. There are a lot of negative reviews - most of them are pepole crying about balancing and the unfairness of the matchmaking system. For a gamer that loves multiplayer games and has tried almost every genre of online games there are, ''For Honor'' is really something that can keep you busy. At first i got turned off by lots of the negative reviews and everyone saying the game is trash, but despite the hate I decided to give it a shot. When there was a discount , I bought the game for 20 bucks and this game didn't dissapoint me. As to why the reviews are so bad. The developers are being blamed for not listening to the community, but to that I can say that they have been responding and they have been trying to adress the issues as well as they can. Some pepole do not understand the work you have to put in to fix certain issues. We can deffinetly see the improvements in the season 5 update, where they reworked some heroes and changed the overall gameplay for better. But the biggest change for the better that they did was adding dedicated servers. When there weren't any dedicated servers, if your opponent had bad internet connection he would just lag and teleport - the game would become unplayable and nerve wracking. Adding dedicated servers really helped the game - players started experiencing way less lagging and the game became playable. As for any online steam game the reviews are almost everytime mixed or negative, because of all the salty players that lack the will to get good at the game. The only thing left to do for pepole who lack the will to get good is to blame the devs. I agree that the matchmaking system needs work, but it is being adressed bit by bit. The problem with the matchmaking, as of now, is that it is very unfriendly to new players, because you get sometimes matched up with very high level players despite you being very unexperienced. I have experienced this a couple of times, but all it did was motivate me to get better at the game, because it showed me how much there is to learn. Another drawback is the season pass and the full price of the game. The season pass offers 6 more heroes of wich 2 are very strong, so that part of the game is a little bit pay to win in my opinion. You can get the season pass heroes for 15k steel each if you don't want to buy the season pass, but that takes way too much time. As for the price, I deffinetly wouldn't recommend buying this for 60 bucks. Just simply wait for a dicount and buy it. I wouldn't recommend buying the starter edition unless you just want to casually play from time to time. Overall i really enjoy this game and I have been playing this non-stop. With all the good things happening to the game, I really think that the game can pull of a Rainbow-Six-Siege comeback.
