Alright so I'm just gonna put this review up so people can see it nice and early...

Seems like an improvement over the original in most ways except one:

PERFORMANCE.

I'm using an R7 5700x and RTX 4090 with 32GB RAM and I get 21 fps at 4k max settings without DLSS or frame generation.

21 FPS.

With a 4090.

A $1600 GRAPHICS CARD.

Lords of the Fallen both looks better and runs better and people were lobotomizing it for having poor performance..

Wildcard.. Please get the performance in line.. Thanks..

Otherwise:  Solid improvement over Evolved.

EDIT:

I suppose I'll clarify some things since it seems like 99% of gamers are braindead and don't understand how gaming at higher resolutions works. The higher your resolution the less your CPU matters -if I'm getting 21 fps and my CPU is sitting at 17% utilization and my GPU is at 100% utilization then I'm not CPU bottlenecked, and everyone commenting on my CPU being a bottleneck in this scenario are the true clowns here.

In Lords of the Fallen at 4k max settings I get 49 fps, more than double what I get in this game and LotF looks dramatically better visually. In basically any other game on planet earth I play the game locked at 4k 120 FPS on my 4k 120hz TV without my GPU breaking a sweat -so anyone claiming "4k gaming isn't viable lol" are also the clowns here.

ALSO the entire point of testing without DLSS is to demonstrate the actual level of optimization the game launched with -other, better looking games have more than double the FPS for me. That's not a good look.

MY REVIEW IS POSITIVE because the game was forced into early release by SNAIL GAMES and I doubt Wildcard would have released it in the state it's in if they weren't under duress.. IN SPITE OF THAT THE GAME RUNS. The game has functional DLSS and frame-generation, the controller support is PHENOMENAL compared to the original game, the loading screens are dramatically reduced, the character creator is vastly improved, and the overall "jank" of the first game is immediately missing when you simply start interacting with things.

My review is positive because I CAN LOWER SETTINGS AND RESOLUTION and still play and have a grand time, and the game IS EARLY-ACCESS AND WILL BE IN DEVELOPMENT FOR MANY MORE MONTHS IF NOT YEARS. This is not a complete product and I've played games that have launched in FAR worse states in early-access.

So stop making fools out of yourselves and commenting "NYEHH WHY REVIEW POZITIV LUL 4090 CLOWN NICE CPU BOTTLENECK BAD TEST NOT FAIR".
