megaman x with a gauge system. if you like megaman x 100% buy it

pros:
- music is easily the best thing about this game, amazed there's no soundtrack playlist in youtube
- pixel art and art direction are great
- stages are good
- both characters feel great and are balanced
- blue guy (forgot his name) feels great to explore maps with (red girl not so much since you're so limited to dashing)
- hard mode feels nice
- the game doesn't have weak points thank god, so most bosses actually feel GOOD to fight

cons:
- weapon variety are mostly are just reskins with little to no changes after your first few
- terrible translation. i had zero idea what the ♥♥♥♥ was going on in my first play through. they were speaking gibberish at one point
- very buggy; catch myself hitting invisible walls in the middle of walking, can't jump down floating platforms, you take more damage from spikes if you jump in the middle of the hurt animation, etc

nitpicks:
- main gun gauge can be hard to read as blue guy mid-combat
- cutscenes felt like a waste 80% of the time, probably rushed
- game ends anti-climatically with no true end unlocks
- some stages are a slog to go through simply due to the moving platforms you cannot skip. i counted how long i couldn't do anything for one of the stages and it took 20 seconds just so i could skip a few platforms with my 2 jumps and pseudo-up dash eventually as red girl. for the most part blue guy can skip most of it pretty quickly due to his gauge mechanic
