PM game with gacha tied to the name.

The gacha shouldn't turn you away, the base chars can clear everything and the other identities and ego weapons can be farmed or are given away in the free battle pass. There's no clear way of farming gacha currency except by clearing story, maybe that changes later on but as of ch3 there doesn't seem to be a way, however, the devs have given ~70 pulls as of review time just from launch rewards and maintence patches. If you've ever played another gacha, devs never give a 20 pulls for a 4 hour maintence. For the most part this is where pulls seem to come from.

The combat definitely has a lot of different aspects to it, and perhaps later on the 2 damage systems (between slash, blunt, pierce, and the 7 sin elements) will play a larger role, but I've found that the most important thing is just reading clash percentage rates, and figuring out when a unit should attack or defend. Ego usage should be common sense, it's a resource that can be used for big damage, especially when buffed, or can be used in place of a coin to win an important clash. Coin tosses and speed is an rng aspect of the game, but for the most part you can play around speed and coin toss rates depend on your clash % in your favor. There are two separate battle systems sort of depending on if the enemy is an abnormality or not. If they are the battle is more tactical where speed matters more and you can redirect attacks and use ego's to win clashes, while non-abnormality fights places more emphasis on just choosing winning clashes based on the %'s and numbers given. There are a lot of effects as well, but similarly to the damage systems, they don't seem too important at the moment compared to the core of the combat.

Music and story is enjoyable so far, if you've played previous games you'll like it. It plays with comedy, edge, suspense, and seriousness quite well. The characters are a bit stereotypical yes, but I think they play into the stereotypes well enough to be enjoyable and not overbearing at all. With such a large cast, some characters have less lines compared to others, but it's still a fair split between most of them. The story is entirely voice-acted, even for random NPC's, and it's very high quality. The VA's are distinct and display a ton of emotion in their work.

There is a friend system. No clue if it even works as of review time or what it's for, but it is there.

Can't speak on monetization since I don't plan on spending but they don't shove any offers to buy stuff in your face. In fact there's no discernable real life shop anywhere on the menu ui, you actually have to click the icon for the gacha currency to get to the shop.

The menu ui is fine, in game could use some work if you want to read effects, but this is a common theme with PM games. Optimization on PC is really good, mobile not so much.

If you liked Lobo Corp and/or Ruina, just play it. If you haven't, try it out, it's free. See if the characters and universe interest you and judge the game for yourself
