Most things from the first game apply again, the good (story, world) the bad (combat, zoom) and the ugly (UI).
Firstly: the max zoom is too close. Maybe not quite as obnoxious as in the first game. But i'd consider the game still unplayable with it.
Solution:
Open console with Numpad0 and* Use "cameradistancelimit 0 80" in the console Zoom-out 80 works good for me. If it doesn't work use "youshallnotpass" first to unlock "cheats". Ignore the error message, it works. Both without the " ".

2.: Story, world, dialogues, choices, flexibility... is again very, very good. And it makes up most of the playtime. Atom RPG doesn't spam tiny levels with hostiles to grind out playtime like for example Wasteland3. It goes the less lazy way of doing it with RPG story stuff. Beyond the combat there is a lot of game here. Which is good because...

3. ....once again the combat isn't very good, fun, versatile or balanced. Wasteland 3's combat may massively overstay it's welcome but it's also much better (xcom style). So if you rate combat over story, you may rate WL3 much higher than i.
The AtomRPGconsole offers also ways to accelerate unwelcome combat ("AP 10" adds action points.)

4. The UI... All retro fallout ambitions aside you do NOT need an UI where it takes 20 clicks to unlock a door with a key or use a shovel. That is just annoying and pointless menu micromanagement.

Honorary mentioning of "Encased". Which i own on gog. It's is also kinda fallouty although the setting is different. Also good story but somewhat weaker quests, cool character system better but not overused combat and a less convaluted UI.
Similar game, very different setting and ruleset but also very good: Shadowrun Hongkong. better, more interesting combat (wasteland2/3 level), great characters/story/dialogues. The older Shadowuns were more combat focussed.
