I love this game, I love playing it, I love queuing up with friends and doing really stupid things in Casual and Community. For six years, I have played this game on and off for over 1,300 hours at the time of this review. Do I regret any of it? No, I've met some awesome people, I've had countless hours of fun, and I've met a very close friend through this game (you know who you are).
But I can't recommend old or new players to play this game in it's current state. Valve's neglect towards this game has made it less enjoyable to play, and even frustrating to the point where I drop this game for days at a time, because every other game is infested with bots.
I'm gonna go over major issues and grievances below:

First, the elephant in the room, the Bots. Valve hasn't rolled out another ban wave, tried to improve VAC, or bothered to take any sort of legal action against bot hosters when they have grounds to do so.
Multiple other companies have taken legal action against cheaters, hackers, bot hosters, people who write cheat software, etc, and they have slam dunked those cases. Sure, Valve may not be able to do anything to these people outside of the US, but if they started doing this on a mass scale then it would deter people from bot hosting at least in the US.
I don't really like playing Casual anymore because even if a game isn't filled with bots when I join, once the objective is completed, people tend to leave, and what happens? Bots will take their place, overwhelm the lobby, and turn it into an unplayable hellhole.

Second, a lack of major updates. It has been nearly 7 years since Jungle Inferno at the time of writing this review, 6 years and 232 days to be exact. There hasn't been any major content updates for nearly seven years, and it doesn't look like the Heavy update is ever coming despite being promised all that time ago.
No, skin crates do not count. No, seasonal updates do not count. No, community additions do not count.
That's about all I have to say, but I also hate that certain weapons such as the Eviction Notice were needlessly changed when nobody ever complained about them. I hope that many weapons get rebalanced and don't just remain complete trash or otherwise (mostly) useless sidegrades/upgrades (*Cough* Third Degree), one can only hope.

Third, I'm just gonna quickly rant about how #SaveTF2 was pointless.
Some catchy hashtag campaign on Twitter and YouTube is not going to do anything, neither will abandoning said campaign the moment Valve says they're listening, while barely doing anything. The only way #FixTF2 will actually accomplish a thing is if the community as a whole refuses to let up, and keep yelling the problems at Valve after they say they're listening, until they've fixed that problem.

Godspeed, Mercs. I really hope that Valve listens and makes the game better for us, and that I can find the same enjoyment I did with this game back in early 2018.

WE DID IT BOYS, WITH ALL OF THE MIGHT OF MANAGED DEMOCRACY AND RIGHTEOUS FURY OF FREEDOM, WE FORCED SOYNY TO BEND THE KNEE. IN THE NAME OF LADY LIBERTY, WE WILL NOT LINK OUR STEAM ACCOUNTS TO THE PSN.

Also the game's pretty good, Super Citizen edition is worth it too. I've done my part for Operation Cleanup. Should you see this, soldier, I advise you do the same. We also must get the game relisted in all of the fellow countries we've lost to corporate greed!

WE DIVE TOGETHER OR NOT AT ALL!
