Helped me at a low point <3

For what's advertised, it does it very well. Balance is the only issue. I don't really pay attention to the meta all that much but there are clearly some weapons that work and clearly some that don't *cough*railgun*cough*.

I still enjoy the game a lot but I can imagine those who don't spend the entire game creating fleets to fight against in AI battles probably find the balance issues frustrating.

Just wait. It needs optimisation. Cyberpunk of all games ran better on my PC at launch.


Edit after playing 20+ hours: I still wouldn't recommend it. I'm personally enjoying it but only because I've been able to just look past some of the bugs. It is a horribly optimised game with a lot of missing and broken features. CO have been very communicative post-release and the impression I get is that they did not want to release this in the state it's currently in. I'm grateful that they are fronting up to this, but simultaneously it seems insane that the game released in the state that it did. A patch 2 days after release boosted performance noticeably for a lot of players. The fact that such a patch could do this just 2 days after release makes you question why it released when it did.

However, one of the saving graces of this game is the CPU performance which is very impressive. The loading times are also staggeringly quick compared to CS1. I do have faith that this game will improve.

Un-optimised, buggy, and looks blurry as ♥♥♥♥. DLSS looks like ♥♥♥♥, TAA is way too sharp and looks amateurish. There's currently a very weird fog effect that occurs at night, and some horrific ghosting of any lit objects around night time too.

At least the handling is okay? 3 years later F1 2020 is still probably the best F1 game, which is sad to say.

I cannot believe this was primarily made by two people. Masterclass.

14-Nov-2023 edit: I haven't been able to refund the game due to having more than 2 hours of playtime. If I could I would have refunded. It has been a very quiet year with not a lot to show for it. Disappointing, and a shame I can't have my money back.

Original review: Just wait. There's a diamond in the rough, but there is A LOT of rough.

Crashes all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time. I can't do anything to fix it, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing is an unfinished piece of ♥♥♥♥.

2 years on and this is still the last good F1 game. It's not perfect, but it isn't broken, and I'd argue has *more* content than F1 2021, whilst being more stable and complete feeling than F1 2022 (I refuse to call it F1 22, the year is 2022, not 22).

Get Motorsport Manager instead. I don't really like that game too much but it's better than this.

Extremely good. Nothing else to add. Stand-out for me is the level design. In some places it's a little bland, but in the areas you spend a lot of time in there is a lot of depth and verticality. Nice soundtrack, maybe the graphics could be a touch better in some areas but honestly these a minor things, running around as a cat in a really immersive setting is very enjoyable.
