Protected Lump Authentication failed
Upon trying to connect to various servers using Doomseeker, I have come across an issue disallowing me to connect. This started when I updated to Zandronum 2.1.2 a few days ago. Protected Lump Authentication failed is what appears. This has happened across a variety of servers.

Before, this never happened and I could play on servers just fine. The only way I have been able to fix this is to delete everything in my skins folder under the Zandronum folder. I have another folder containing everything in skins to replace the contents when I want to play singleplayer. I am just wondering is there anyway I can fix this properly without having to replace the contents of my skins folder everytime I switch between singleplayer and online?

I'm not too tech savvy but I appreciate any advice people can give me. Cheers :)

It all really depends on what you're putting in your skin folder.

What are you putting in your skins folder? Are you putting any maps or mods in there? The only thing that really belong there are skins and similar mods.

I have a BDmutator for zombie sounds. A custom HUD, Brutalv20, NiceWallBlood, Skulltag actors, st_hi-res, Taunts and oneliners, DoomMetalVol4, A space marine voice pack, iconboss and painsounds (adds a sound everytime you get injured) That is all I have in my skins folder. Sorry for the late reply also.

That's the problem, it's not recommended to put Brutal Doom and other similar mods in your skins folder. Skin folder should only load sounds and skins. (And by skins, I mean the multiplayer add-ons and such.)

It's best to load those with a front-end launcher, such as Doomseeker, IDE, or Doom Explorer. The outdated ZDL should work too.

Man, I'm have this same damn problem like Piggins! Can't to connect using my console, just with Doomseeker. Tell me, what popular subfolders should be here in in my Doom2? I only have "skins" and "screenshots" subfolder that my zandronum uses it.

I have just few wads, I'm not much fan of extreme mods for Doom2, I likes of more a vanilla style stuff. what wads/pk3 I should have in skins? Skins is just for skin? Or servers to put sounds and some others wads here?

The only thing that really should be in there is skins, announcers and sometimes sound packs, like HD doom sound effects or something. Anything else in there might cause problems that will not allow you to connect to the server, and have to be loaded up manually.

Servers do not put wads in your Zandronum folder, unless you told Doomseeker to download wads and put them in your Zandronum folder. (If that's the case, then it's recommended to download server wads into another folder and have Doomseeker go in there.)

Just like what I said eariler, only put skins, and announcers in there (and some sound packs can work fine). Anything else will not allow you to connect to servers, where these wads aren't needed or required by the server.
