RGO: True Crime New York City
Game Overview:

This is an open world game set in New York City. You take the role of an old gang member turned undercover cop. The game also features a morality system that plays with how you are seen as a cop. You can be a bad cop or a good cop and everything in between. The reaction you will get from other NPC will be affected by the decision you make. Being a good or bad cop however does not have an overarching impact on the story driven npcs. I believe that for the time, the game was one of the biggest open world game available.

Compatibility:

-I tried playing this game under Windows 7 before and had some real problems with it. It simply would not launch. However under Windows 8, it works (I know, weird). The game uses a launcher to edit your configurations options but the menus to rebind the controls do not open.

The game works out of the box with the X360 controller but has issue with my Logitech RumblePad (DirectInput). Under the logitech Controller, the mapping is all wrong and totally unplayable.

The game supports widescreen and this is pretty much the only option available.

State of the Port

The port is atrocious. It is not the worst port out there but it truly is bad. The any configuration option is utterly bare boned, it has framerates issues and a lot of bugs.

My Opinion:

The game has a lot of things going on against it. The average review I believe for this game was aroud 5 at the time of release and it is merited. The game animations are bad, the game controls are bad especially the driving and pretty much everything in the game is junky. But even with all its faults, I ended up liking the game when it was released to the point of keeping the game; the game came out when you could still trade in PC games, glorious times. It was enjoyable but nothing more. It was nothing memorable and definitely not a game you would like to replay over and over again.

Where to get it.

At this point in time the only way to actually get I believe is to find a second hand reseller or a used copy. I do not believe the game is still being printed and it is not available digitally.
