This topic has been pinned, so it's probably important
Gundam Extreme VS. Alternative for PC.
It has come to my attention as of lately that a lot of people have been wondering if there was a PC Alternative for playing Gundam Extreme VS. FULL BOOST on the PS3 with.
And thankfully, I can safely tell those people: YES THERE IS. =)

If you are a Gundam Gamer, who doesn't own a PS3 and/or PSP, and owns a Medium or Higher Spec PC, and wishes that they could play Gundam Extreme VS. Then I've got good news for all of you.

A lot of people probably think: "Wacky isn't that what Ultimate Knight WindomXP is for?"
In the past, yes, that's what it was for. It was the only thing we had back then as a PC Alternative for Gundam Extreme VS. But now, things have changed, and new alternatives on PC have arrived. So now, Ultimate Knight WindomXP is Dead and Obsolete.

So what is this new alternative that replaced Ultimate Knight WindomXP? It is known only as:
GUNDAM VS. GUNDAM NEXT PLUS.

At long last, this game is finally playable on the PC, and it plays a bajillion times better THERE than it ever did on the PSP.

Now, before you indulge yourself in this game, there are minimum system requirements to be taken into account here. Your PC must be equipped with AT LEAST the following hardware, OR BETTER:

- A Dual Core Processor
- 2GBs of RAM
- NVIDIA/AMD Graphics Card OR an Intel HD 4000 or Higher

If your PC has lower specs than those, then unfortunately this game is not for you, and you cannot play it on your PC until you upgrade. But if you meet and/or exceed those system requirements, then here's what you do to get the game and get it setup:

For starters, you're gonna need PPSSPP, the emulator for the job. You can get it a ppsspp.org.
Though personally, I would recommend getting the latest Dev Build myself:
http://www.ppsspp.org/downloads.html#devbuilds

Next, you're gonna need NEXT Plus itself. Which I just so happened to have a copy of a Partially English-Patched NEXT Plus ISO. You can download that here:

https://nicoblog.org/psp/27743/

And finally, you're gonna need a Save File that unlocks all the playable mobile suits for YOU and gives you New Game Mechanics that are present in Extreme VS that have been added into NEXT Plus.

Here is the download link for them:

https : // mega . nz / #!GUITCIwa!qw4azhmy29VSg2mbk9RTcVfRkGGwPmilB0mdMr3GStg
(Remove the Spaces at the beginning of the URL)

All you do with this one is put this into your Memstick/PSP folder that PPSSPP creates for you.

Finally, when you start up the game, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you go into the Game Options and set the Boost Meter to "150%" to make the game more accurate to how Gundam Extreme VS.'s Boost Meter is. NEXT Plus has a significantly smaller boost duration, and setting it to 150% will make it more like EXVS.
Ontop of this, you will also need to hit ESC -> Game Settings -> System Tab (Left Hand Side), and scroll down and Check ON "Enable Cheats". Then, scroll back up a bit and change your PSP's Emulated Clock all the way up to 1,000. This helps it handle all the mods being used at the same time once you enable it.
Once you Enable Cheats, you need to hit ESC to go back to the main PPSSPP pause menu, and click Cheats this time, and make sure all of them are turned on. Then you should be golden after that! =)

But yeah! That's about all you'll need. At least now you will have something to hold you over until you can finally get a PS3 and then Gundam Extreme VS FULL BOOST. This will be a fantastic placebo until then.

Enjoy, guys! =D

The menus themselves are still in Japanese, but the Description Boxes on the right for the menu choices are all english translated.

Not bad :P
Still waiting for the day that PPSSPP becomes able to make Next+ multiplayer games possible.

One step at a time. Though perhaps if you can get on a LAN... well I don't know I haven't loaded it up yet.

I kept googling it from time to time. All results says it's not functional yet. you can host, but if someone join it will crash. The only emulator successfully made that is JPCSP, but the speed of that emulator is unbearbale.

First of all, Project Nimbus is still in Early Access. It's subject to change, and IT WILL get more content in the future.

Second of all, what does it matter; graphic wise? NEXT Plus will work perfectly fine on your PC with that type of GPU. NEXT Plus is the only alternative for Extreme VS. on PC, so I'd take what you can get, if you ask me.

The game runs fine, but when there is more than one Gundam is on the screen, the sound stutters and the game slows down a bit (not to a point where it becomes unplayable). Anyone knows how to fix this? (My computer runs TF2 with a little bit of trouble but can still run it, so what's going on here?)

That sounds to me like you might have to modify a few settings.
By default, PPSSPP runs on Buffered Rendering Mode. Sometimes, for certain PCs, non-buffered rendering runs better, but it could let the framerate go crazy-fast if not careful.
You could try checking out a few of the settings to see what happens.

Switching from "OpenGL" to "Direct3D9" seemed to help a hell of a lot and the sound problem is nearly fixed. If I can't completely fix the sound ploblem as it stands, this may have to do for now.
Edit: I was messing around with the framerate control, and I somehow fixed the issue. Anyways, Thanks Wacky!

Like I said. It varies from PC to PC about what settings work the best for it.
If Direct3D9 works better than OpenGL for you, then go right ahead. =)
But if I may just ask....
What specs does your PC have? (Processor / RAM/ Video Card)?

The Specs are: 64-Bit Operating System (x64-based processor) / 4.00 GB RAM / AMD A6-5200 APU with Radeon HD Graphics (2.00 GHz)
I just telling the specs that my computer says it has.
