A late reply is better than no reply! And receiving a reply after 1 week is not even that bad, trust me I worked in customer service for many years :)
It might not even be their fault, the Steam keys are provided by the publishers. For example, the publisher might have inadvertently included a duplicate code in the batch of keys they sold to Fanatical. That duplicate code could have been sent by the publisher to another retail seller before and Fanatical wouldn't be aware of that.
Just contact their Support, I'm sure they'll be able to help you :)
As the other poster mentioned, the real problem may originate from the game company.
So I pay today and get the product in a year?
I did that now and in the past. ITs good to post here because most people that come here think 3rd party sites are trouble free. They need to see threads like these for the complete picture.
Surely it will take much less time than that. Don't be so pessimistic! :) The longer it takes you to contact their Support, the more time you'll have to wait to get your product.
It's OK to post about your negative experiences in the forums. But calling it a scam is definitely not OK (look up the definition of "scam" if you're not sure what it means).
I can empathise with you, as I have received a duplicate product code from a 3rd party seller in the past. It was replaced after I contacted their support.
(I also had two Steam keys being revoked, but this was a mistake by the developers/publishers and the games were quickly reinstated after several people complained.)
So, I got 1 duplicate product code out of hundreds of Steam keys I have purchased over time from several different 3rd party sellers (BundleStars/Fanatical, IndieGala, Humble Bundle, Groupees, and many more). I think it's safe to say that the probability of getting a duplicate key is very very low.
But it can happen, just like a person might receive a damaged item from Amazon. Digital goods are not immune to problems :)
If I pay for an item on amazon and get nothing then yes its a scam. Yes probabily of getting a duplicate key is low but you know whats a high chance...them refusing to give me a working key. THere is nothing I can do. Unlike steam ,you don't get refunds nor you are sure you get the product you paid for.
And when you do get a key or a refund, I'm sure you won't come back here and admit you were overreacting like a child. You'll slink away and in your mind still think Fanatical is a scam even though they will solve your issue.
I've bought over 100 games from Fanatical/BundleStars and never had an issue. That you think a single incident of a problem is indicative of a scam is the kind of reactionary mindset that poisons modern society. Good luck with being triggered so easily.
Now you know what I will do in the future Nostradamus
Thursday I will be leaving home for 4 days and I won't have access to internet.I imagine this is money lost because Tim quit replying to me after I showed everything he asked me about my account.
