Hey, i found this group after my mafia club at school broke down during the exam period. One question: how is this different from mafia? From the rules below its exactly the same.
Grendel May 13, 2010 @ 4:48pm
BASIC RULES: Werewolf takes place over a series of game days and nights. During the days, the players work together to determine who among them is a werewolf, and vote to lynch (hang/kill) them. Ultimate Werewolf requires some players to mislead other players in order to win. Each night, the Werewolves choose a victim, and the lone Seer checks one player and learns if that player is a Werewolf or not
Grendel May 13, 2010 @ 4:48pm
BASIC GAME SETUP: 1 Seer Card, Werewolf card(s) (1 for 6-8 players, 2 for 9-11 and 3 for 12-15) and 1 Villager card for each remaning player.
Determine who will be the Moderator for the game. The Moderator will have access to all chats at all times and will govern and judge the game. The Moderator randomly assigns roles to each of the players, and the moderator will message them privately telling that player their role. After each player has joined their corresponding chat, the game can begin
Grendel May 13, 2010 @ 4:47pm
THE FIRST NIGHT: On the first night, the Moderator will call out the role of the Werewolves, in the Werewolf chat, and the Seer chat, no villagers are allowed to say anything and NO ONE, may type in the general chat during the night. The night begins when the Moderator says in General Chat: "Everyone in the Village falls asleep. All players assume General Chat silence." Everyone will stop talking. The moderator will then change to the Seer Chat and say: "Seer, please name a player." The Seer will type a players name into the Seer Chat, and the Moderator will tell the Seer whether that person is a Werewolf or not.
Grendel May 13, 2010 @ 4:47pm
THE FIRST DAY: The first day should be used for introducing each player by going in alphabetical order and having each player say something about themselves. This could be as simple as: "I'm Bob, and I'm a Villager." or something like: "I'm Bob, the Village donut maker, and as everyone knows, Werewolves hate donuts." Players do NOT want to claim to be the Werewolf or any special character, and players with these roles should lie about their true identity and claim to be a simple villager and nothing more.
Grendel May 13, 2010 @ 4:46pm
During the day, all players discuss who to lynch, to nominate someone for lynching say: "I nominate (player neam here)." If another player seconds the nomination, (by typing: "second") the nominated player will have a chance to defend himself, and then the players vote. Type 1 to live, type 0 to die. If you lynch a player, his role will be revealed and the Village will fall asleep immediatly. If not, you may continue discussion until the next nomination. If a player is lynched, he will be invited to spectate all chats, but may not say ANYTHING, a player who violates these rules WILL BE KICKED. (one of the chats will have a list of all players, and wether they are deceased or not.) After 10 minutes on the first day, if a player is not lynched, than no one dies and the Village falls asleep. (This time limit is ONLY ON THE FIRST DAY)
Grendel May 13, 2010 @ 4:45pm
SUBSEQUENT NIGHTS: Every night after the first, the Moderator will call the werewolves in their chat, and they will discuss which non-Werewolf player they would like to kill. The Werewolves must agree on a victim. the Moderator will also call the Seer to indicate a player each night.

SUBSEQUENT DAYS: Each morning, the Moderator should announce the player that was killed by the Werewolves. That player may not speak at all to anyone, but may spectate all chats.
Grendel May 13, 2010 @ 4:45pm
ENDING THE GAME: If the Villagers manage to lynch all of the werewolves, the game is over and the Villagers have won. If the Werewolves ever acheive parity (equal numbers) with the Villagers, the Werewolves win; the moderator should announce this only at the time it happens.
NOTE: The Seer counts as a Villager for the purpose of teams

POST GAME DISCUSSION: After the game, there will be 10-15 minutes to talk freely about what happened in the game.

NOTES: The game WILL be more complex in the future, including some or most of the 38 special roles, including the Vampires, a third team alltogether, the Amulet of Protection, and Daily Variants.

3:NO PRIVATE MESSAGING EXCEPT TO AND FROM THE MODERATOR
4: No one but Group Admins may be a moderator, as you show honesty and an understanding of the rules, you will be promoted to Admin.

ALL CHAT(all living players may talk here during the day)
WEREWOLF CHAT(werewolves may chat here during the night)
SEER CHAT(this is for the seer and the moderator to use during the night)
