Transformers Model & Prop Porting
This is where you will comment/submit on what your working on bringing to Gmod/SFM. Let everyone know what your working on so that no one gets confused when two Megatrons get added to the Steam Workshop. With that, here are things that will help you with what you guys are working on:
1. http://www.wiremod.com/forum/off-topic/12460-how-make-models-garrys-mod.html (how to make models in Gmod)
1a. http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1236601 (An easy model porting tutorial for anyone interested. Including myself :( )
2. http://www.gildor.org/en/projects/umodel (The tool you'll need for Unreal Engine games like the "Cybertron" games or the DOTM tie-in game)
3.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jqnUW3kh4o ( A Youtube video with links to most of the models of FoC in obj. and c4d format. This is for if you don't have Fall of Cybertron)
4.http://www.gildor.org/smf/index.php/topic,741.0.html (This is to help out with the texture and color issues in the models)
5.http://www.gildor.org/smf/index.php/topic,643.0.html (This is to help out how to get Omega Supreme from WfC)
6.http://www.gildor.org/smf/index.php/topic,1609.0.html (This is how you COULD get all the models in FoC)
7. http://www.gildor.org/smf/index.php/topic,523.45.html (This is where I found the solution to the texture problems with the Cybertron games)
Finally,
8. http://www.gildor.org/smf/index.php/topic,1518.15.html (This thread is related to Foc. Anything you need help with the game should be in here)

9.(NEW) These is a few videos on how to port models from 3DS Max to Gmod. They are pretty outdated, but they should work on older 3DMax programs before 2010. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=FZXJnNl1Fr0

10.(NEW) I have found the full model files for DOTM. All of them. That includes all of the robot modes, vehicle modes, and all of the weapons including the special weapons for certain characters. No need to use the DOTM video above for use. {LINK REMOVED}

Remember to let everyone know what your working on so that others working on the same thing could either work with you, or work on something else.

Cool. I'll probably join in sometime soon. Been trying to clean my computer of virues before jumping in. Good thing I have tutorials on standby.
Well while I was recovering, I found some interesting links for some models:
1. This one has most if not all of the Transformers DOTM Robots, vehicle modes, and specific weapons (That is if anyone's interested) http://www.gfxworld.ws/index.php?/news/comments/transformers_dotm._game_models_lwoobj
2. This leads to the page that contains a download for a model based off of Bonecrusher from the first film (again, if anyone's interested): http://www.gfxworld.ws/index.php?/news/comments/transformers_models_bone_crusher_3ds_max/
That should be the LAST I ever find links to other sites again. This stuff is just crazy :(
Though I've been working on him since March, I'm now able to work on DOTM Megatron from the tie-in game (the new one, not his alien tank form from ROTF) with the proper software.

Current progress so far: 30%
This includes finding out if he already has bones, getting him to SDK somehow, and have a few people test-run him. Sadly my computer is still in total disaray with errors, missing files, wrong download paths, etc. So if anyone here able to join in and help out, here's the files with the materials and stuff needed to get him fixed and ready to pose: {LINK REMOVED}

Edit 7/11: Progress so far: ~45%
I'm still not sure if things are properly done. I need to find out from a pro if I'm doing something right and if they could help me in getting Megatron ported.

Edit 7/17: Progress: Down to 30%
I find more info on how to make proper models from Apoc. With that in mind this could take a while longer on my own. Some help and/or proper guidance would be greatly appriciated.
Note to myself: make 3 SMD files: 1. Skeletal, 2.Referance, 3. Physics. Then get textures working. After that, make a mdl. file out of the remaining files. Finally, use QC Generator to finish the modeling progress. http://waspscorner.com/otherstuff/qc/index.php

I'm doing Seekers, progress is somewhere over there. Also doing Megatron, Optimus Prime, Soundwave, and a few others with the help of RTB.

Without giving much information out, it's safe to say I'm not doing what you are.

I think that's a compliment, but I will take it as a compliment. Good luck my friend!

I'm working on a port of my very favorite character (....at least from TFP!), Knock Out. It's taken a while to clean up the model in Blender, but I've currently gotten the model and textures pulled, and I'm working on cleaning up the texture in CS6 (the original was 256 x 512 and chock-full of gross jpeg artifacts).

:starus:Preview 1 (Original Textures): http://i.imgur.com/dV9NaVZ.png

:starus:Preview 2 (Original Textures): http://i.imgur.com/A5FsD8V.png

The thing is, the model could only be ripped with a 3D screencap. I know absolutely zilch about rigging a non-t-posed model, and in all honesty, I'm a beginner at rigging regular models. Does anyone have any pointers (or links, whatever you have will be greatly appreciated) on doing this?

I'm also open to teaming up with someone after I'm done cleaning everything up, if they want to do rigging/Source conversion.

That was me saying I'm not porting from the Bayformer games or WfC/FoC. Not a mean comment, sorry.

Wii ripping is possible. However I'd suggest to wait till Wii U is. Those textures are horrible.

Glad your able to join us, as I'm just starting to get my 3D software and my Transformers files back due to my laptop being wiped and repaired. If you don't mind me asking, if your not porting from the Bayformers or the WfC/FoC games, what are porting from then?

It's a secret to everybody. People will just have to wait. And who said they were ports? :botchanger:

I will say this. This series recieved only one 3D game. It was fully cast (horribly) in English, but never was released in any English speaking country.

Ah, I remember that now. I won't say anything else, but I got it.
