Friends on top of profile list by level

Those with the highest steam level always shown on top of everyone's profile friend list, even when offline. Am I the only one a little bit bothered by this? I just don't want to constantly appear on most of my friend's profile, just because of my level.

So, I think it would make more sense if they were first sorted by being in-game, online or offline, then by the levels.

I found it convenient to see quickly if any of my friends are able to surpass my level, but I didn't consider the fact that I'd end up appearing at or near the tops of their own lists. I don't mind either way, but it'd be interesting to hear what other people think.

I'm in the same position (no pun intended) as Ultimax. It would be nice if this weren't the case.

I think this is the point: to encourage competition so people buy into the system more.

How they should be sorted then? By alphabet? Then A's will be always first.

That's how it always was in the past. It went Online/Offline first, then name.

I'd be satisfied if it at least still respected the former.

I never really noticed it was by alphabet in the past, probably because it was always varied by people in-game, online and offline.

Bumping this thread. I'd much rather see who's playing games or online than a Steam level of an offline individual whilst those actually using Steam are forced to the back. It's putting me off investing any more in crafting badges, and I hope they return to the old layout in the future.
