Buying cards without owning the game

A lot of your steam level is determined by how many badges you craft rather than how many games youve bought and played. Although, i like that i CAN purchase cards i dont own the game for, there are many users that could spend less money on games they dont even like and still level up the games badge fully by just finding deals on the cards in the market.
-Is this fair to the devoted people who actually like & play the game?
-Shouldnt players that have the game in their library receive an XP bonus other than the stockpile badges?
*I wish for there to be a way where we get more bonuses for owning the game than just the first half card drops, perhaps a mild XP bonus or packaged background on game purchase?

I just think if our steam level is going to show our contribution to our gaming, we should game to collect, not collect to game

Lol by your logic one would need to own an oil company to get his petrol ffs, don't troll the OP, his point is 100% valid - game ownership and dedication has nothing to do with Steam lvls; versatility and determination in cards trading does, though, and that's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Do you get boosters if you don't own the game? How about those free card drops you get for owning the game?

Well, you get the free card drops when you're PLAYING the game, so I don't see how you could collect those if you don't own it. And the boosters only drop after you've exhausted all your free card drops, so I don't see how you could get those either.

These are Trading Cards and works off the basic Trading Card System which is meant to focus on the cards and not so much the game. Many people use to buy any card related to their favorite baseball/basketball/football team and this is very much like that. We are lucky to have free drops for owning the game but the two are separate best to think of it that way.

If you wish to own the game I highly recommend checking out these games as many I would have missed otherwise and would say 95% are great games worth purchasing (especially during Summer Sale).

Some people focus on the bonuses like Friend Slots, Emotes, Profile BGs, and Leveling (either for Status or minor % for boosters). No one is forcing you to buy a card or a game but you're welcome to. For an 80's kid like myself this is a great feature as I loved collecting Garbage Pail Kids & Sports cards till they were stolen.

I thought about that and it only helps with half of the first set, which is isnt much compared to the next 4 you have to do all on your own. (including random boosters which i cant agree with)

Im not saying there should be stuff taken away if we dont own the game, more so stuff ADDED if we do own the game. I also like the cards being separate from the game time and achievements for obvious reasons but, our steam level is greatly out shadowed by cards atm

I believe owning the game gives you 1xp and bonuses. I'm waiting for confirmation but maybe look into it? That and of course free cards.

They do and i calculated it, you get around 85% of your XP from cards alone. What bonuses are you referring to?
