Summer cards, will the value increase or decrease over time?

Considering these are 'summer sale only' cards, what do you guys think will happen to the value of these cards? What about the foil cards?
Will they steadily decline like most other games? Or will they start to rise again after the availability drops? Thoughts?

This might depend on the posibility to craft something with them after the sale ends. I would find it counterintuitive.
So given you can't do anything with them except for having them in your collection and there are already around 15,000 units more supplied than demanded, even half way through the sale, it should drop greatly in value.

you can still craft em after the sale but people cant get new ones, except from the market.

so, sooner or later their value will increase.

I have a feeling that people are much more interested in crafting stuff for games using the game cards, and getting the background/emoticon...etc. for the games.. Thus, even though the supply for summer sale cards will finish after the sale, I believe demand will also ebb down once people "forget" about the summer sale.

Having said that, I believe Valve benefits a lot from cards that are unlocked through monetary transactions like these summer sale cards; hence I wouldn't be surprised if Valve comes up with an idea that will keep the summer sales cards valuable & interesting in the long run (eg. a "post summer sale card transmution week" where people who still have summer sale cards have limited time to transmute them into any game card they want)

Depending on what you believe, you should either be hoarding these cards now, or trying to get them out of your hand as soon as possible :)

Wait a year or 2, than the summersale cards will be rising like hell. Because all the people who wants badges, made them during summer sale. No more Mystery cards after summersale but there will be always some people who want to badge or joining steam later(next month or next year) and start to learn about the badge system and start crafting and buying those cards you can´t get anymore, like summersalecards.

For now everyone (who don´t badge up) try to sell as fast as possible every piece they don´t need, to have money for summersalegames.
