Emoticons disappeared

I can't see my emoticons in the box, although I have them in my inventory. I tried to write them manually but no luck. The emoticons disappeared when i restarted Steam

Same thing happened to my girlfriend last night. A couple restarts didn't seem to help, but after waking up this morning they're back. Either they just fixed over time, or restarting the computer may have helped.

As long as they're in your inventory, I wouldn't get too worried.

I am having the exact same issue which is very odd as they were working
Edit : Oddly enough it works when you comment on someones profile but not in chat
