Whats the deal with people asking for 1:2 trades?
In the trading section you often see people asking for 2 cards if its from another set or when i'm looking for cards in a certain set and offering cards from a different set people will say 'I can give you said card for 2 of yours'.

Where do people get that value from? For now at least all the cards are listed as common so there isn't any rarity value to it. So i'm confused why people have this weird idea that just because its from a different set means that its worth more or something.

So, you are okay trading your Zack Zero Trading Card (market value of $5.75) for my Team Fortress 2 Trading Card ($0.24)?

I find this a weird question somehow.
it is a market more or less if you want something you usually have to pay for it.
if two people want something you have a good chance of a 1:1 deal.

there are plenty of groups and what not geared to 1:1 trades.

Alright no I could have worded that better, but for example, In my current trading thread I've been offered Magician for two fo my cards and they all roughly are worth 0.19-0.21 each. So the whole pricing thing doesn't work there though the point is valid were it more expensive since i really don't see people making such a fuss over a couple pence.

As for the 'paying' for it idea, its trading cards, it really doesn't work that way unless the card has a higher rarity to it, so once again, it doesn't make much sense.

it makes plenty sense to me , I am not trading my cards I am selling them.

in real life some cards have more value than other too , maybe you care for one game more than another and are willing to overpay for it.

you are free to take your time and find 1:1 deals or wait for the booster packs.

Some sets are worth more, rarity of the game or less cards for a set makes it worth a little more. But aside from that it's just people being greedy is all, especially the 1:2 for same set trades lol.

everything is worth what a purchaser will pay for it even if it is called trading cards.
