nope, all you need to do is to be promoted to moderator status on the steam forum, pretty strait forward.

how do that? just seeing other disscusion?

Moderators are an official position and you will be considered a representative of Valve so they don't just throw invitations around. You could try e-mailing Vavle and asking nicely, but for many forums the general rule is "if you have to ask to be a mod, it's not going to happen."

If you really want to be a mod: Be helpful on the forums. Don't annoy anyone. Never get banned on anything. Use proper English, or stick to posts/forums that are in a language your can use proper grammar.

being helpfull is the main thing.
I got an invite to be a forum moderator a few years ago it was not for my good english or my charming posting.

so, i see some forums or disscusion, post my opinion (without annoy), be helpfull and maybe i will get an invitations. Is that right? I speak Spanish and i am pretty good speaking English. Question: when you guys say forums, disscusion is the same?:tradingcardfoil:

you best bet is to learn all the support FAQ and help people along with those.
that was my trick I guess I just don't want to be a moderator.

asking for it is the surest way to never get it.

I suggest you delete the whole thread :P

So the Moderator position for the Badge is different than being a moderator of a Steam Group?

yes.

because everyone can open a steam group and make himself an admin or moderator.
but this has no meaning outside the group.

a steam moderator is a moderator, with all his "powers" inside the whole comminity.

and well, you can only get promoted to this when youre working for valve, or get the badge by accident.
a guy in my friendlist got a steam developer badge just because a game company made a mistake, but that is very unlikely to happen.
