It's trading cards, they're kind of silly just like in real like. Foils are rare, thus prices are higher. If you care-- do. If you don't, don't.

Also, foils need only be crafted once, there is only one level of foil badges

But most of the other foils are cheap like $7 at the most

A week ago there was a foil on the marketplace for $300. It's not about what they're listed for, it's about what people are willing to pay. If whatever price their listed for doesn't work, they'll go down.
