Does having multiple games "eligible" for booster packs make you more likely to get a pack?
Wondering if there's been any official word on this.

Yes, over time you will end up with more boosters packs if you have more eligible games. It's all set up so that you are better off to have all your games on one account, instead of spreading them between accounts.

Thanks! I guess I'll get around to installing SS3 then to collect cards and make it eligible.

But not sure how this makes it better to have 1 game on all accounts instead of spread between multiple accounts (except for the obvious convenience factor of not having to keep switching between accounts.)

I do see that the other way would make it better to have multiple accounts though, so it makes sense.

Unless having 2 eligible games makes the user get more than 2 times the ammount of booster packs compared to one account that has only 1 eligible game it still looks better if they spread the games between accounts. I'm not going to do this, just saying.

Has anyone gotten more than one booster pack yet?

Also easier / cheaper to level up 1 account rather than several, and higher level accounts get more chance of booster drops.

im alwyas active, I own loads od games, and have collected the cards I am entitled to, but no drop. I think its just luck really

I have over 30 eligible games and have gotten one booster on the first day. Nothing after. If this was handled better and more games really did lead to noticeably more booster drops, I would buy games just for the cards, but I see no actual evidence for it. As it stands, the whole booster system is mystery meat.

I have also got no booster packs :( I think they should make the drop better for boosters and make them non-marketable, that way people that actually want and need the cards can get them. Make the cards and emotes still marketable, but the boosters themselves non-marketable.
Kethus 28 czerwca 2013 o 1:26
^Maybe they could make two kinds of boosters - marketable and non-marketable. The non-marketable would be the same as you speak. Once someone aquires all the possible badges for his current games he would start receiving marketable ones at the current rate. When he acquires a game that supports cards again he would start receiving the non-marketable ones until he collects everything.

surely they want everything on the market so they make money. I am pretty sure they are just interested in profit. I do laugh though that people can pay like £60 for a virtual foil card. Even the regulars at 70p I think are a waste of money

Valve has previously stated that the number of boosters given out for a game is dependent on the number of badges that have been crafted for that game within a given time frame. Because cards are taken out of circulation when they are crafted, and each game drops roughly 1/10 of the needed cards for a level 5 badge, the supply would eventually "run out". The boosters are a means of maintaining a consistent supply. Whether they're marketable or not is somewhat irrelevant, as potentially non-marketable boosters would contain marketable cards once opened (unless I misunderstood your suggestion). Hopefully, this helps clear up a bit regarding the motivations of the drops, and the mechanics behind them/

The good news is that there's a chance to complete a badge without purchasing or trading for cards, and the price of the needed cards stays relatively consistent (at the moment, it's a low price). The bad news is that the odds of finishing a badge without buying/trading is extremely low. Considering that (with a number of exceptions), most games will require 4 cards to complete the set once you've gotten all of your drops, and a booster contains 3 cards, it's fairly difficult to finish a set without buying/trading. Given that the chance of getting one booster is pretty low, I wouldn't hold my breath on getting two. With some savvy trading/use of the market it's pretty possible to craft a number of badges without spending a dime. I usually sell the series of drops I get from one game, and use the proceeds to finish a set from another. It's an optional meta-game that can be a reasonably fun use of downtime.

Would be cool to see how many badges get crafted each week.

Nor have I.
Dammit! Still none. And here I thought drop rates were based on who complains the most.
