Enable users to display lower level badges

I noticed that Cubemen 2's level 4 badge is green, and its level 5 badge is purple, which is crazy, because we all know green is better than purple. :) It'd be nice to have the option to get the level 5 badge for XP, but to be able to use the level 4 badge on my profile.

I agree, I like the look of the lower level BL2 badges more than the higher level ones, you should be able to display which ever level you have unlocked.

Not fond of the Borderlands level 5, nor the faerie 5 when faerie 4 looks and has better text. Be nice to pick which level badge and text, but show the +xp of whatever is your current level so people still see your level.

Agreed. Also is not clear whether foil badges will overwrite level 5 badges or vice-versa, but we should be able to display any badges earned of any level

Foil has it's own badge

Nuh, foil badges and normal badges are sperate, foil badges also only have 1 level.

Agreed with this, especially for badges with multiple characters.

You're not unlocking badges, you're leveling them up, upgrading them. This means the earlier badge is gone, it is replaced by the leveled badge. It would make no sense being able to level up a badge to level 5, and then showing the level 4 badge instead of what it is supposed to look like; e.g. what it became after the upgrade. Sure, I too like some badge looks over others, but this is how it is :\

That is not what the topic is. Displaying a badge of your choosing is one thing, displaying older versions of the same badge is another. You cannot display a badge that doesn't exist anymore, that's how it is, I fear :\

Yes, unless they change it. I was simply stating how it currently is, and why it is so, nothing is set in stone, but the badge upgrade system is probably here to stay. What they could do, is give an option to choose which level badge graphic you want to show. So instead of having to revamp the badge system to not replace the badge you just leveled and keep all the badge versions, have a little list from which you can choose the desired look for your level 5 badge.

Some low-level badges very differs from high-levels. It's really strange that you lose the opportunity to use the badge after you upgraded it. Isn't upgrading should offer benefits, but not "restrictions"?

I actually think it's neat and simple that each game only has one badge. Except that there are also foil badges. It would be even better if you couldn't craft a foil badge until you leveled your basic badge to level 5, then the foil badge would be an upgrade, replacing your basic badge with the foil version, which would then be the level 6. But yeah, I understand where you're coming from, I just like simplicity. And also, the amount of badges is kept in check with this upgrade system, instead of 30 level 5 badges, you'd have 150 badges in your list, what would be horrible.
