Is it worth it to buy foil cards and or booster packs?
So i unpacked a 'The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth' foil card from a booster pack, it's worth about 50 cents, and i have no clue what i should do with it. I normally would just make a badge, but these are worth way more then normal cards, i thought about trading it but dismissed the idea at the thought of having to trade. any ideas?

There's no significant difference between a foil badge and a normal badge. You get 100 Exp, a background, an emote and depending on the time of year, either a coupon or a Sale card. Foil badges do not even provide better odds of getting the rarer emotes and backgrounds.

How much is having a relatively rare badge worth to you, compared to making more progress towards a standard badge (foils are worth 3-4 normal badges) or outright selling it? If you're a super big fan of Binding of Isaac it might be worth it since it's more Isaac stuff and it's highly unlikely that getting the card back at a later point will be cheaper. If you don't care about completing the foil badge, get rid of the card in whatever method makes you most happy.

@Glimmer i think i'll sell the card, i'm not a die hard fan so it's not really worth it to me to spend almost $12 on a foil badge. thank you for your help.

Unless you like the badge or game a lot then sell it, they not worth it other than for looks.

Booster packs are worth buying if you can get them for the same price or even better less than 3 cards of that set. You will have to do some trading due to likely getting a lot of doubles but it's worth for the foil chance so you can resell and get a little back if you get one, plus it's not costing you any extra.

@Iron Monkey sounds like a good idea, selling foil cards sounds very rewarding. (at least in theory)
