Dynamic crosshair?
Hello lads!
Is it possible to turn ToonHud's crosshairs into dynamic ones?
I'm tlaking about the ambassador, which has a cooldown mechanic that can be determined by watching the crosshair expand and shrink.

Thanks a lot!

There's one way, but
  • All classes/weapons uses the same one
  • They don't work in pure servers (Valve servers) unless you load it first in non pure server (for example in Training) - You have to do this every time you start TF2.

1. Create theme at toonhud.com where the first crosshair is the one you want to be dynamic
2. Download and install it
3. Open toonhud/resource/ui/hudplayerhealth.res and set "visible" of "Crosshair1" to "0".
4. Open TF2 and type this to console
cl_crosshair_file ../replay/thumbnails/xhair/xhair1
5. Open Training and test it. Now you should be able to use it in pure servers as well.

Oh, great! I found a workaround, but still, good to know. Thanks a lot!

I instead made a script that would play a sound after some time has passed, if I remember correctly. I ditched the idea of the expanding crosshair.

This is what I personally used. I removed it after a while iirc cause I don't play spy anyway, so I have no idea if it still works...

Put it in spy.cfg in your cfg folder.

bind MOUSE1 +ambyshot alias +ambyshot "+attack; sndplaydelay 0.95 player\recharged.wav; wait 15; play player\recharged.wav" alias -ambyshot "-attack"
