Apocalypse Z's first book, by spanish writer Manel Loureiro (i read it in english), is written in a Journal style and i quite liked that. Book 2 and 3, changed from 3rd person, whenever exploring another POV character and goes back to the 1st person style of the book, whenever you deal with the POV of the main character.
Generally i am not a fan of 1st person stories, but Journal entries are different for some reason. I dunno why.
So anyway... I decided to try Adrian's Undead Diaries, by Chris Philbrook, and while its nowhere near as good as Apocalypse Z's first book, i have to say as silly as it is, i was thinking of Ashe for the first part of the story..
The Protagonist, Adrian, who is writing his journal recounting how the Apocalypse started to remain sane, is a 6 something big dood, referencing himself to be "big" but not to fat. And he was working as a Teacher. And while he has no dogs, he does have a cat. Adrian also decided to hole up at his school for the duration.
Of course, as the story progressed the similarities end... but i figured i mention it here, in case Ashe might find it interesting to know that out there is a Novel about a 6foot something teacher surviving a zombie apocalypse in his School
They're doing shots of scotch. Not cheap, artificial space scotch. Extremely expensive Islay single malt scotch that's been sent to space
It is unclear whether the authors think this is an acceptable thing to do, or whether it's just the characters. >_> Er . . . apparently the posh waiter brought the posh scotch with shot glasses, so I guess the authors are the ones at fault here. Posh waiters should know better!
(I don't actually drink scotch, it disagrees with me quite emphatically, but The Mister is a fan)
I mean aside from the cost of shooting that stuff into space.
Edit: In case it's a language barrier thing: shot = tiny drink that you throw down your throat in one movement.
Like these:

Popular drink in my youth was an "U-boot" (Submarine), which is dropping a shot into a glass of wheat beer ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheat_beer )

And i thought Holden was some rich guy that ended up captain running away from his family and such (at least from what i remember of the show)... so i am not surprised he would do shots with expensive liquor.
But i do agree, that it seems a bit excessive, now that you point it out.
