We want to play BFME!
Is there any way to try to persuade Steam to get the licence of the games?

Can anyone tell me about the Greenlight and how it works?

I think that we might find a way to be heard! :D

I imagine a Steam version of the game with improved graphics and updated-with-servers multiplayer :D

Oh boy that is nasty. I will have to think about that. EA really should be able to sell games they made. This Saul Zaentz may have had zero involvement in making the BFME series. If the company will listen I might build an aregument on that. That is if I am correct, which means I have to research if this Saul Zaentz or ME enterpriises even worked on the game we are interested in. A tricky position. I will look into it, thanks.

Well Saul Zaentz is dead, but his company holds liscences to several different things and has had some influence on movies in the past. They had no involvement in the actual DEVELOPMENT of the games I'm pretty sure, but in 1978 I think (year might be slightly off) they purchased the rights to all the content for The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit from Tolkien's estate, therefore they basically own the rights to anything relating to those stories and the world they are set in. So while the Saul Zaentz company or M-E Enterprises may not have done any work in the game development, they gave EA the legal rights to make those games with the content that they owned the rights to.

Wow, thanks for all the info. Ok. It still stands as the problem, a complelling aregument as to why the company should consider taking time to work on getting BFME onto steam. Here is another practical question; who has the abillity to release the game onto steam? Would that be only EA or would it be this Saul Zaents Company? As I am thinking about this, I should contact both at the same time. EA may be a bigger giant to talk to than Saul Zaents Co. At least I hope so, that is one giant instead of two that I need someone to read an email.

EA would be the ones that could release the game on Steam, but I think if anything they'd release it on Origin not Steam since that's their platform. Either way, maybe a petition could convince EA to reapply for the liscence, but I'm not sure how many people would get behind that sort of petition since the game is so old.

I haven't gotten replies. I am uncertain if we are going to be able to ask who could produce the game as well. Sure some group of people has the rights, but who has the files for the game? Who could give the files to steam so that they could sell it?

DangerClose games (dreamswork interactive) and DICE L.A developed the game. Mark Skaggs was executive producer on BFME 1. He is now director and board member at moonfrgo labs. He'll have no political ties to E.A but as a the power behind big games like farmville, if you can sway him, that's solicitation.

We want it!!!

I suspect E.A. has some power over their titles in making their LOTR games. Sure they have no right to sell, but I am wondering if they have to be asked before anyone sells the game? Can anyone here contend this? Is E.A. even interested in these titles anymore? They do have pages on Origin for LOTR Conquest and ROTWK. I wonder if they are still trying to get their rights back.
Ujiyasu03 2 JUL 2016 a las 4:10 p. m.
These pages of course are not selling the games, but just sitting in the void on the internet.
