Sorry guys, this was meant to be announced later in the week after a bit more testing but... TF2 Extreme #01 has moved!

Most bookmarks for the server should just follow the migrated GSA so you won't need to update. If you have any connection difficulties, the new address (in the group description as well) is: 45.63.29.9:27015.

Unfortunately a hosting problem with the old provider caused the sudden change. Logging into their control panel I'm presented with someone else's DayZ server - unexpected surprise. TF2 Extreme #01 isn't logged into Steam anywhere so it doesn't look like this is another random IP change as also happened recently. I've been migrating and testing things over the past couple of weeks already, but didn't expect a glitch to force the change.

Once Boydo has a sec, gameME stats and the play.tf2extre.me DNS should be updated to the new location as well.

Let me know if you see any problems with the new server. Pretty much everything has been pulled across as-is.

The server name is TF2 EXTREME #02 until the old provider can confirm we've been properly shut down. Extreme has lived there for nearly 8 years, through several buyouts of the original hosting company, so it's not surprising (just annoying) someone forgot we were there.

The big update is finally here but there's been a few problems with it. Why not kick back on Extreme while Valve gets those queuing times sorted?

The removal of QuickPlay relaxes the rules for community servers, I'll be keeping an eye on how that pans out in the near future. A few features were pulled a while ago to avoid stepping on Valve's toes.

Meleefast is reinstated on Extreme since last night - land a kill with a stock melee weapon on a faster class, and you'll end up moving at the speed of that class for a short while (respawning, getting stunned, being knocked back or a few other things reset speed). Fun for heavies biffing scouts.

There are still occasional decloak timing issues with meleefast and spies - decloaking resets a spy's speed. I already delay the speed update by a few frames to avoid this, which usually works. Re-disguising always resets it (as intended), but occasionally an un-disguise waits a bit too long.

Just a note to let you know that I've assigned a hostname to our L4D2 server which is still affectionately known as 108.61.227.74 for those of your good with IP addresses.

You can also reach the server using zombie.tf2extre.me if that proves easier to remember.

I've brought back a few classic Prophet plugins that everyone enjoyed:

• Melee speed boost, a half-second boost when you land a hit with a stock melee weapon. Great for spies and fat scouts. Updated plugin to handle renamed, killstreak or basic revisions of the stock melee weapons (like the festive versions).
  
• Huo-long incendiary ammo, set people on fire at range
  
• Tractor-beam Nataschas, for the classic Erector experience.
  
• Stealthy heavies (slightly translucent) in Extreme mode.
  
• Vote trigger for !tinyheavies which unlocks in Extreme mode.
  
• Vote trigger for !bouncyrockets, in Extreme mode.

There's been a couple of config changes:

• The Extreme mode population requirement is now 12. There's been no complaints about the current crop of plugins ruining anyone's fun, so we're comfortable to lower the bar and keep re-introducing classics and creating more.
  
• Spy & Pyro buff health-cap is 500 now, completely uncapped by Extreme mode for the full Greatspeedy treatment.
