The problem is for the mods you need version 1.3 or 1.1 depends on the mod. But for 1.1 and 1.3 there are maximum 6 players who multiplayer - very boring...
but there is a trick to install mods AND play version 1.0...

If you want to install mods AND play version 1.0 multiplayer ask the friendly Battlefront 2 player [D-Watch]Venator here.

Idon't have Star Wars Battlefront as a Steam game but I can play it, look at my screenshots

Battlefront Extreme for example is a very cool mod and you can play multiplayer, too.
Or maybe Ultimate Battlefront the Clone Wars?
But I don't like Star Wars the Clone Wars. I think it makes fun about Starwars
For example: The Battle droids can think!
