Having trouble with Xsplit Broadcasting
Hey folks,

So I'm trying to test a broadcasting stream on our Early Access title. I've made sure to add the broadcasting user to the whitelist of broadcasters. I've set the correct AppID, because I just want to run a test I've set the stream to only be viewable to friends. I've generated my RTMP token. My settings look like this in XSplit RTMP:

Name: Steam
RTMP URL: rtmp:/br1-lhr1.broadcast.steamcontent.com/app
Stream Name: (I've entered my token here)
User Agent: FMLE/3.0

Video Encoding
Codec: NVENC H.264
Bitrate: 2500
KeyFrames: 2
VBV Buffer: 1000
Video FPS: 30
Video Size: 1920x1080

Audio Encoding
Codec: AAC LC
Bitrate: 96
Format: Stereo

When I begin broadcasting on Xsplit the Frames are encoded, none are dropped but the stream never appears on the product page or under broadcasts in the community hub.

Anyone know why?

**UPDATE**

I was able to get the stream appearing under the Community Hub broadcast tab by setting the Viewers to 'public' rather than just friends. But it still won't appear on the product page.

I think this might be a side-effect of the white list approach. The product page is looking for public broadcasts only to showcase

Can you verify if you can see your stream by going to your individual watch page on the community?

Thanks, I discovered what the issue was. Despite having published the new user to the Whitelist and having been trying for an hour it seems like the user was still not recognised as being on the Whitelist. I changed to a user that had been added days ago and it worked.

So the lesson here is, if you're adding a new user do it a long time before you plan for them to broadcast :).
