Make native WiiMote SteamOS/Linux support
Hey. Right now the WiiMote Support in Linux/SteamOS is broken. I wasn't able to get it to working. Please fix WiiMote Support on Linux/SteamOS and make the support native.

+1 This is a nice feature to use specially with the Dolphin Wii emulator.

Why would they want to waste resources supporting something that isn't really within the primary goals of the OS? A simpler solution would be to use a different distro for things that SteamOS isn't meant to be.

What have you tried to make it work? There is already a native driver: http://dvdhrm.wordpress.com/xwiimote/

Valve is likely no more capable of creating such a system than the open source community, if they are even allowed to, as a competitor, the best I expect they would do is bundle someone else's solution in, assuming there is a reliable one?

its simple. Steam is the Behemoth of the gaming world. If you want to be the king then act like it and DOMINATE the gaming world and make steam/pc games be able to use anything. All hail Steam. Long Live Steam! (you better support steam and encourage them to grow or we lose all our stuff)

Once again, copyright law may actually prevent them.

Yeah, just use some third-party open-source thing. Or make your own.

Steam can't make the wiimote/wiiemulation happen natively in steamOS. Third parties and private citizens will have to create that piece as there are legal issues around that kind of stuff.

i dont see why one cant use the exsisting debian packages since steamos is runing debian with big picture @ login theres a way back to the desktop and or terminal console for installing software thats not avable through a software center or synaptic package manager
using this (warning if you brick your steam os install its up to your self to recover)
