And even if you could get Steam OS and it's games working it would run terribly. The PS3's specs are incredibly low compared to PC's and there would be no drivers.
People have managed to fit PCs into the PS3 case if you'd be interested in that.
If Steam was open source you could compile it for PPC, and there already are drivers. Only thing keeping you from doing it is valve not open sourcing the steam client, and the games wouldn't be able to run since they are closed source and compiled for x86/AMD64
No, there aren't driver for the PS3.
I wouldn't ever try and run modern PC games on a PS3 but from a streaming standpoint it would be a cool way to give your PS3 new life. :P But its not going to happen, and at the moment impossible.
