Space game like Minecraft - Help me decide
If you only see a wall of text, try this short version: tell me about the differences of Space Engineer, Empyrion - Galactic Survival and Eden Star.

Long version incoming.

Was looking for a specific type of game for the better part of a month now (rather been at it for several years with some of the games) and can still not decide which one to get, as 2 of them are currently offered near or on their lowest historical price, i would like to ask this group's players to help me decide.

The initial idea was that it had to be a minecraft-type game with space being explorable / fully part of gameplay.

After scams like No Man's Sky (half scam half legit... i always hear), StarForge and how the whole internet buried it pretty much, except 1 entry in kickstarter funded list on wikipedia. It leaves these 3 games to choose from:
Space Engineers, Empyrion - Galactic Survival, Eden Star.

Space Engineer went from asteroids in space only to planets with procedurally generated space... meaning it fulfills the req.
Empyrion had only 1 planet to explore previously and now got space exploration as well.
Eden Star, i'm not so sure wether it features space exploration yet.

Granted each of them is different in a way and that's why i want to hear the opinions of different people who have played them.

As historical price goes: Space Engineers is currently the cheapest to get, followed by Empyrion and last by Eden Star.

As i have looked at each game in a very early alpha state, i will add my own observations to this:
Space Engineers has a very complex way to controlling things, while it supports everything asked for it also is the most complicated game to get into or get back into (this makes you not want to play it at times, but also feels necessary in this specific case).
Empyrion takes a whole lot of time to get into the game and building up something useful... not sure wether i had done something wrong, but it looked to me like nights are for sitting ducks until you get some lights with electricity going. Otherwise planets seemed rather empty beside the back-then, horrible looking inhabitants.
Eden Star here is something i liked a lot with the primary tool being for building, attacking and defending, yet feels completely natural to use, it generally seemed to lack the complexity of the other two games, even tho you can basically do the same things in it. Would even go so far as to call it a "casual" experience among these three games.

A recent game that pops up all over the place is Astroneer, tho i don't know anything about it, except that the graphic doesn't look that great yet. Maybe someone can explain what is up with that game as well. ;)

Edit: TL,DR added at top... might have overdone it with the wall of text...
