Ingame hotkeys to play/pause music

I found myself often in need of a play/pause shortcut, like F8 for example. In dota games where action starts to build up, or when someone in civilization 5 talks to me on teamspeak, having to shift+tab and click is a bit of a bother.

Anyway good idea nonetheless.

That would be cool. On the other hand, there are keyboards that have dedicated music buttons that work with Steam Music, Spotify, etc, like mine.

I have dedicated music buttons, and mine don't work properly. They work if I am clicked into a steam window, like chat, but they don't anywhere else, like my desktop, in game, and even if in game and on overlay, it still won't work.

Eheh, I got special buttons too and didn't even think of using them.
You're right, they only work when a steam window is clicked and active.
I don't know if the tweaks to make it work everywhere is complicated or not, but that would be a nice alternative too.

This would realy be very usefull. I hope they integrate this. I personaly want to listen to music when driving around in Altis Life but I would need to stop it realy fast if someone talks to me ingame

The Steam Music Player would really take off of we could quickly launch it in-game and/or control it in-game. It shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to code. Please consider suggesting this to the proper channel.
