Btw, there's already an existent topic of the same content.
IMO if it shows what game we are playing currently then the same should be done for music.
I had this turned on all of the time back in the MSN days and i definitely loved it. It will definitely popularize the feature and help further enhance the social element of the Steam application. It doesn't require major changes to the UI and it enhances the experience for all the users.
It gives us a really nice feature and people who don't want to see/use it are free to turn it off.
From which official sources have you acquired that information? Have you personally talked to the devs. Sheesh.
We're here to suggest. That is what this forum is for. If they like the idea they will maybe think about it and possibly include it. I think (and quite a few people here as it seems) that this would be a great feature I really miss back from the pre-Facebook era when MSN was a thing.
If you are so strongly against the idea then you're free not to post here. You are actually just helping OP with your spam because you're bumping the thread and, hence, making it more visible to the dev.
As it is stated in the Steam Music's description it is made to provide people with a more comfortable gameplay, so here we can already say that most of time people'll listen to music when only playing. What should be displayed in their status then? A game's name they are in or song's name (which you can't even "click-n-listen"). But of course you don't need to play a game to listen to what you like, then will you ever use the feature of Steam for this? Do you even have a music collection on your HDD lol? Even if so, if you have... it only fits a media library what actually a Steam Machine will be.
