Support for keyboard media keys
I've not seen any mention of this, but I think it would be a great feature - It's become a bit of a standard for most keyboards to have keys for play/pause, next, back, and mute (in that order really - play/pause being more common than next and back).

This make it very simple to manage the music playing, because games don't (I'm not even sure they can) use this key, in part because it would be making use of a feature not all keyboards have.

Is there anything planned for this feature as a possibility?

That's a good idea. I use the media keys on my computer when I have itunes running, be nice to be able to do that with Steam, too.

Of course, when I use Big Pic, it's usually when I'm playing with a gamepad, but not everyone does that.

Ya thats true - but it would be good for when it comes out for Desktop as well

Yup, would be nice. Beware though: Steam shall never ever swallow those events. When one plays music using another player, that still should remain controllable.

media keys seem to work when you are on the desktop but not when in game, even if you have the overlay open, this would be a really nice feature.

I've updated the code to support this so that if you launch the app with the command line argument "-hidden", it will launch minized. Unfortunately I can't create a runnable file at the moment (don't have access to a dev machine) but if you're familiar with compiling code, you can build this version ( https://github.com/keyboardP/SteamKeyJ ).

If not, I'll compile it when I get access to a dev machine and upload the new version of the app with the "-hidden" feature :)

I've managed to compile the code, here's the binary ( http://1drv.ms/1BbZXqA ). Create a shortcut to SteamKeyJ and pass in the '-hidden' argument. This should open it minimised and set that shortcut to autostart.

Let me know if you have any questions but hope that helps.

Sorry about that, not sure why the OneDrive link isn't working, maybe I formatted it wrong. second time lucky[1drv.ms] :)

You're welcome, glad it's useful! I'm hoping Steam build it in one day.
